HAZEL’S POV
I didn’t let go of Aziel for the longest time, even after he had calmed down. No wonder he was so closed off and found it hard to express himself. He didn’t know how to and knowing that now, I realised that I needed to be more patient with him. He didn’t deserve anything that he went through, nobody deserved to go through any of that.
“I am so sorry you had to go through that. No child should have to go through that.” I said softly.
He pulled away from me to have a better look at me. He had a very vulnerable look on his face. It warmed my heart and broke it at the same time. Aziel always seemed so strong all the time. Seeing him in a state like this was very foreign to me but it also made me happy that he trusted me enough to open up to me.
