Chapter 51: Outdoors

Eva Sam leads me out to the balcony. The full moon bathes us in its luminous serendipity. He has set up a little picnic under the stars. For a bit, we sit and enjoy the dinner date by taking turns feeding each other. It's a bit of normalcy in this strange world we live in. It makes me a bit nostalgic, back when I thought I was human. This doesn't feel alien or like I'm at the mercy of this irresistible invisible force. Sam takes my hands in his, “I thought we could enjoy this before…” “We go stark-raving mad,” I insert with a laugh. After we laugh, I ask, “You think it will always be this intense?” He shrugs, “Only for the next 30 years or so.” I roll my eyes as I scoff, “Only!” “If we were both normal wolves, the intensity lessens as the likelihood for pups diminishes,” he explain
