MALIA’S POV
It’s times like these I wish I could run on all fours, it felt like I couldn’t get away quick enough as I could Feel the pack hot on my tail.
I’d rather drop dead than let any of them lay their paws on me again much worse, mate with their alpha. My fearful thoughts were slowing me down and it seemed as if my flee was only stirring them up, but regardless of this mind boggling paradox, I wasn’t going to slow down just yet, I could still faintly catch their bloodthirsty scent, so there’d be no resting or stopping till their pungent smell becomes a memory to forget.
If only I could shift. I would be lucky if I am ae to get away from them fast enough. I could faintly hear their noise from behind me as they came.
I could see trees ahead and smell moss for miles so there probably still was a lot of forest ground to cover, I’ll muster all that’s left of my strength and take huge leaps till I’m at the edge of this forest and far away from those murderous runts and their arrogant alpha.
As all these thoughts raged through my mind, I snagged my foot on a high root and stumble towards the moist forest floor, but the thought of being caught by my pursuers must urged my limbs into action, and I find myself using that staggering momentum as a running headstart into clumsy leap, it actually works, I propel myself forward
I took another leap of faith and soar forward again I was doing it, feeling confident, I take another only this time, I blow past an arch of two low hanging trees kind of like a shrubby entrance, right over the edge of a cliff, it takes some seconds for me to realize, that I’m right over the middle of a deep ravine/valley headed head first to the ground, I struggle to find something to grasp vines, rocks, branches, anything! But I’m too far from the edge.
My mind still works though and I’m thinking of how I was probably far enough from my torturers and I should howl for help, but instead, I scream in fear all the way down, a different kind of fear, one I apparently couldn’t escape from, after all canines aren’t known for landing on their feet.
Before I hit the ground, I could smell posies blooming from the valley where I am about to die, and a quick thought crosses my mind “this actually is a decent place to die”. I hit the ground with a thud only I heard, and the last thing I saw before darkness were flowers, dancing gentle from right between the rocks.
After what felt like a lifetime I open my eyes but I couldn’t make out anything from the haze of a thick blurr, but I could tell I wasn’t in that valley anymore, the smell of the posies was gone.
“She has to be here somewhere, find her!” I heard the Alpha’s voice not too far from me and I cowered in fear. It was a good thing I had no wolf or it would have been easy for them to snuff me out. However, my wounds will make it so easy to find me. I have to get away.
I got up and made to run but something leapt at me, a wolf.
“I got her!”
“Let me go!” I screamed as I wondered what kind of luck I had
I thought I was finally free to escape even if I don’t have an idea how to find my guardian bit escape has been paramount on my mind.
As I was dragged back to the pack, I tried to stifle the pain as the men took turns making me suffer.
“Why did you run,. Little mate?”
I looked away from him as he walked to stand in front of me. He raised my chin with one of his hands and I looked away defiantly but when he did not make any move to walk away, I spat at him.
“Bastard.” I muttered.
“What did you just say to me?” He asked and I looked him squarely in the face.
“I called you a bastard.”
I drew out every word slowly and before I knew it, his lips came down forcefully on me surprisingly. It took mequite a while to recover from the shock as I locked him where the sun doesn’t shine.
“You will pay for that!”
“Right after you pay for what you have done, MURDERERS!”
I was taken away immediately and thrown in a room, locked up. This is the perfect opportunity to escape since the only thing standing between me and the pack’s exit are a couple of men whom I could navigate my way around.
I planned this escape carefully but not before the door was thrown open forcefully and the Aloha entered, with a determined look on his face.
“Here, wear this for the ceremony.” He took my right hand and put a necklace on it but I threw it at him immediately.
“I want nothing from your filthy hands.”
“You have no choice. You’ve got no wolf. It is the full moon tonight but I will be taking your blood when I mate with you tonight. This will call unwanted attention and we do not want that.”
“What of that is exactly what I want?”
“If you want to be reasonable, go ahead but you cannot do anything about this, you will be my mate and that is the end of it!”
“And if I refuse?”
He began to move dangerously towards me. I stood there without any fear. I have trained a long time for situations that are dangerous but never like this. He was a big man and the oy man I have ever tried fighting was Daryll. I do not know his strength but I might have a colour about his weakness.
“You die!”
