“Side trip?” Katya scoffed. “It’s only two hours south and you go straight through it on the way back here.”
“I just gave you two packs that should be good enough.” Travis’s temper sounded frayed. I silently cheered the vamp on, wondering if she’d goad him into attacking her. How fun would that be?
Unfortunately for me, she simply sighed. “Very well. I’ll take my leave. I know my Queen will be eager for the information I do have,” she finished.
“Fantastic.” His voice sounded bored, not amused in the slightest. “Now get out.”
There was a slight scuffling, and I imagined Katya hadn’t taken too kindly to his tone. I smirked, unable to help myself. Travis needed to remember that the world didn’t function like his misogynistic little pack did.
“Watch yourself, you little prick.”
