Lyra POV Ronan stood at the edge, watching me with such an intense gaze that the breath was ripped from my lungs. He took a few steps back, and with a running leap jumped off the side. He flipped into the air before landing with a perfect dive into the water. He surfaced with a flip of his hair, eyes shining with mirth. “Show off.” I splashed him in the face, and he threw his head back and laughed. I almost forgot to keep swimming, ogling him with the strange sound booming from his mouth. I had never heard him laugh before, and it instantly became my favorite soundtrack; better than any music I’d ever heard. It was right up there with the sounds of the forest. Together, we swam.
