Chapter 4: A Lesson for the Hypocrite

After finishing the call, Amelia couldn't sleep.
She stretched lazily and got out of bed.
Right when she was downstairs heading to the lobby, she saw her uncle, Noah Sutton, and his family visiting.
His family was always up to no good.
It was because before her grandfather passed away, her grandfather had passed on most of the ancestral property to her father, which caused resentment in her uncle's heart.
He would often come looking for trouble. In order to seize the family fortune, he had secretly colluded with Thomas, hastening the decline of the Sutton family.
Amelia quietly observed the people in the living room and noticed that Noah had brought his illegitimate daughter along today.
If she remembered correctly, Noah's goal today was to get his illegitimate daughter a job in the Sutton Group. Her father was currently in charge of the Sutton Group, so it required her father’s approval, and Noah wanted to secure a good position for his illegitimate daughter.
In her previous incarnation, her father did helped Noah and agreed to let his illegitimate daughter join the Sutton Group, but his illegitimate daughter had ambitious plans and caused chaos within the company.

Amelia casually walked over.
"Amelia, do you want to have some coffee?" Grace Sutton, the illegitimate daughter of Amelia’s uncle, respectfully handed her a cup of coffee.
Amelia reached out her hand.

"What happened?" Noah became nervous.
"It’s fine. Amelia didn’t do that on purpose," Grace hurriedly said.

It was no wonder that despite being an illegitimate daughter, she still received Noah's favor.

"Slap!"
Amelia slapped Grace's miserable face with full force, leaving her stunned on the spot.

Grace's face turned half red, and her tears flowed even more intensely. She pitifully said, "No, it wasn't true. It’s you who didn't catch it in time just then. It’s your fault..."
"Was it that I didn't catch it, or did you let go before I could catch it?!" Amelia interrupted her, "What? Have you learned to lie now?"
"No, it’s you..." Grace quickly shook her head, looking aggrieved.
"You’re still lying!" Amelia was mad, "You really aren't a daughter raised in the Sutton family. You have no manners and you can't even handle passing a cup of coffee without breaking it."
Upon hearing Amelia's mockery of his daughter, Noah was displeased.
However, he couldn't determine who was right or wrong, and considering Grace's status as an illegitimate child, it was difficult for her to be accepted in high society. He couldn't find the words to refute, so he had to swallow his anger!
"Lily." Amelia turned to look at Lily Sutton, the legitimate daughter of Noah's wife, "Your sister really can't compare to you at all."

"Alright." Owen stood up from the sofa, playing the role of the peacemaker, "Although it was left behind by dad, he certainly wouldn't want the family to be unhappy over a coffee cup. Let the servants clean it up."
"Yeah, that's right." Olivia quickly intervened, "Grace's hand is burned red. It's better to take her to the hospital for treatment."
Although she said that out of kindness, Olivia didn't mention the fact that her daughter had made half of Grace's face swell by a slap.
Amelia was amused.
Her mother seemed to have ulterior motives too!
"We’re sorry to make you all unhappy. We'll take Grace back now," said Isabella Kelly, Noah's wife.
In reality, she didn't genuinely want to help Grace join the Sutton Group. Even though she tolerated Noah bringing his illegitimate daughter back to the Sutton family, she would never treat her sincerely. Simply because of Noah's favoritism, she had to put on a show!
Isabella said while pulling Noah along.
Noah looked very angry. Originally, he came today to discuss Grace's entry into the company, but now that Grace had been mocked to this extent, he couldn't bring himself to say it at all.
Finally, he angrily shook off Isabella's hand and left.
Afterwards, his family left.
When Grace left, her anger was evident in her eyes.

"How could you say that it's your grandfather's heirloom? It's crazy that you came up with that," Owen said with a reproachful tone, but clearly indulging her.
Amelia stuck out her tongue and looked naughty.
When dealing with hypocrites, there was no need for moral boundaries!
