Max stood with the captain near the cargo hold door, waiting for the two women to finishing talking. He couldn’t help but gaze at Linda and feel saddened by the downcast expression on her face.
“So, how are you and Linda getting on?” the captain asked.
“Fine, I think. It would be nice if we could have some time alone, without being disturbed.” Max answered.
“I did suggest using one of the guest quarters.” The captain responded.
“I know, but it just seems presumptuous and not very personal.” Max said shrugging his shoulders.
