Philippa waved to Kade as she followed Jace and Linda up the stairs with Linda and Zeus following behind her. She couldn’t help looking around as they continued the trek up the steps.
By the time they reached the ninth floor, the three women were flagging and struggling to keep up with the captain up front. The captain must have noticed this as he stepped off the stairs and onto the ninth floor.
Philippa gratefully sunk to the floor next to Linda and Susan, sighing in relief as she leant back against a wall and closed her eyes briefly. When she opened them again, Zeus was stood in front of her holding out a drink for her to take, “Thanks.” She said as she took the offered drink, taking a swig immediately. It was sweaty work, climbing up flights and flights of stairs!
