A People's Plight

Chapter 5

Jace

Jace finally found himself striding down the corridor towards his cabin. Doctor Wallis had given him the all-clear after an examination that took over twenty minutes, after which he had gone down to the cargo hold to check on his guests. He decided to set up a two-hour rolling guard duty made up of all ten members of his marines squad, with two in attendance outside the cargo bay door at all times. Just to be on the safe side, he had also set up a monitoring feed to his wrist computer that would alert him if anyone opening the cargo hold’s door.

With an all-male crew of 25, he had to be careful. None of his crew would ever had seen a woman, not even their own mothers, before this mission. So tensions and emotional desires would be running high, with have 75, no 76 women on board. He couldn’t let anything untoward happen to the women, for two reasons. Firstly, it was morally wrong for the women to be taken advantage off and secondly, it would reduce the womens’ monetary value, a percentage of which would be paid to him and his crew.

Approaching his cabin’s door, he hoped that he hadn’t made a mistake leaving Kade alone in there with the woman. It had been over an hour since he had left them and he worried that his headstrong brother would have done something stupid, like normal.

Opening the door, Jace stared in disbelief at the sight that greeted him. The woman lay on the bed, her jacket and blouse undone, and his brother standing at the foot of the bed, staring at her. What had his brother done!

Anger swelled up inside him and he found himself shouting, “What do you think you are doing??” He grabbed Kade by the shoulders and dragged him away from the women. Standing above him, Jace looked down at his brother and noticed his engorged p***s sticking up from his undone trousers.

Kade retorted with a shout of his own, “exactly what you wanted to do when we brought her to your cabin!”

Jace felt shocked, he looked over at the woman on the bed, her bare skin exposed, showing him her body in all its glory. Shaking his head, he looked back at his brother, “I was going to talk to her, explain our people’s plight! Not gain pleasure from her! Kade, she can’t even fight back, she can’t say yes or no! I am disgusted with you!”

Kade’s chin dropped to his chest, Jace could see a hint of redness flush through his cheeks, a hint of remorse reflected through his demeanour. Kade spoke so softly, that Jace struggled to hear the words, “I’m sorry, I just saw her lying there and felt desire welling up inside me. I …. I…..” he stumbled to find the words.

“Just get up and get out!” Jace commanded, pointing towards the door, “Check in with Doctor Wallis for your medical, then take a really cold shower and some downtime. Don’t leave your cabin until your due on duty. Now Go!!!”

Kade scrambled to his feet and rushed for the door, slamming it closed behind him. Jace, took a deep breath, willing his anger to subside as he once again looked at the woman on the bed. Gazing at her naked flesh, Jace could understand the emotions that had run through his brother, as he also felt them, but unlike his brother, he would not act upon them.

Stepping around the bed, he opened a closet and withdrew a blanket. Opening it up, he draped it over the woman, it was the only decent thing to do. He sat on the bed beside her and cupped his hand around her cheek, “I’m sorry,” he murmured, as he leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead. Rising from the bed, he headed for his desk. The computer was on, waiting for his password. He looked at the screen, thinking he had work to do, a report to write, but he felt exhausted both physically and emotionally.

Crossing his arms on the desk in front of him, he rested his head on the facing the bed and looking at the face of the woman there. She looked so restful, so beautiful, so desirable. He just hoped that she would forgive him for his brother’s actions. With those thoughts running through his mind, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
