Buying An Apology

Rowan’s POV I asked to go on their little trip to the mall. They were reluctant at first, but eventually agreed when I said I would pay for whatever they got. “So Rowan why do you of all people want to go to the mall?” Ayana asked from beside me. “Yea, you usually send someone to go to the store or mall for whatever you need. What is so important that you the mighty king of dragons stepped out the house and went to the mall?” Joey sassed. Ignoring all the sass Joey dumped on me and responded, “I wanted to get something for Bella, I was kinda may be acting like a d**k to her.” “Oh, you must like her somewhat if you’re going out your way to buy her a gift. You’ve never gone out for anyone before. I like this new side Bella seems to be bringing out of you.” Beatriz says as she pulled into a free parking spot away from everyone. “I don’t like her. I just feel partially apologetic towards her.” The three looks at me and rolled their eyes. “Rowan Adan you are a complete and utter moron,” Ayana said as we got out of the car. “I am not,” I said as I held the door open for the girls. “Yes, you are,” Beatriz said as she walked in front of me. I rolled my eyes and held the door for them. “What were you thinking of getting her?” Joey asked looking back to me. “I’m going to head over to Jonathan’s and ask for some help.” “Jonathan? Jonathan Miranda? Your godfather? Wow, Rowan, you have got to like this girl if you’re going to Jonathan.” Ayana looked at me with wide surprised eyes along with the other two girls. “It’s not that serious. Here take my card and use it when you’re buying your stuff. Call me when you guys are done or hungry.” I take out a card from my wallet and hand it to Ayana, “Have fun.” I gave them a salute and walked further into the mall to my godfather’s store. I walk into a familiar jewelry store and see a familiar short Asian woman, ” Hi Aunty Mint*.” She turned her attention to me and her face lit up. She has shoulder-length caramel light brown hair, chestnut brown eyes, and thin downward turned lips. She walked over to me and pulled me into a tight hug. “Rowan. It’s been too long dear. Your looking for Jonathan right?” My aunt was never the type to behind the bush and that was one thing I love about her. Nodding at her, she points to the back, “He’s dealing with a problem. Watch where you step.” I nod my head at my Aunt’s warning as I to the backroom. “Uncle?” I called out as I entered, “It’s your godson Rowan, can I talk to you?” “Of course, just give me a moment.” I wait by the door as I heard some shuffling and talking before the door opened revealing my godfather. He had salt and pepper short spiky hair, dark chocolate eyes, and short black goatee, and a mustache. He wore a white button-up shirt with two buttons undone, with a dark blue suit and pants. “It’s been too long Rowan, what can I do for you?” He asked sticking his hand for me to shake and pulled me into a hug. “It has been far too long Uncle. I’ve been busy with the Double Dragons and dealing with the-” “Shade’s daughter? Yes, I know and remember, Belladonna right?” I nod as he cut me off. “I kinda made her upset yesterday and I need a gift to help me out please.” My uncle’s eyes widened in surprise. “Mint did you hear that? I need to make sure my old ears aren't deceiving me.” “I was going to ask the same thing, Jonathan. What do you live about her?” “There’s so much I could say about her. She’s feisty, stubborn, wild, unpredictable, soft, caring... She’s a lot and I feel bad for upsetting her, now will you guys help me?” “I’m just surprised because the people you end up with all you ever say is that ‘They’re a good fuck.’ You have never once described a girl in that manner. How long has she been at your house?” “It’s been eight months, the weeks just seem to fly by. The guys love having Bella around and the girls like the fact that there’s another girl. She kinda brings out the best in all of us, but I still need help. She likes the color purple and has a belladonna tattoo on her arm, she doesn’t seem to care for diamonds or anything. I don’t know.” I ended with a shrug tempted to flip off my smirking Aunt and Uncle. My Uncle leads me to a glass case with a belladonna necklace on display. It had 6 lucite flowers (2 in the middle pendant) and 2 lucite leaves. The beads are all glass (with a few stones) in various shades of purple. I nodded slowly imagining her wearing it. “I think she would like it, thank you, Uncle, how much-” He cut me off. “I’m not going to make you pay.” “Uncle Jonathan, just because we’re family doesn’t mean I shouldn’t pay.” “You can pay me by buying a wedding ring for Belladonna and a wedding invitation once you stop being obvious to your feelings. Here, I’ll see you at Christmas dinner.” My uncle practically shooed me out and my mouth was left agape. I was out of the store before I realized I was even out. We aren't even dating... Yet. My phone vibrated I saw a text that the girls were ready to leave, so text back asking they’re in a different store than earlier and they replied yes and told me that they in a*****e near my Uncle’s, and I waited for the girls to meet me. I see them and begin walking to the car, “You guys aren’t hungry?” “Nah. Bella and Keith made dinner and some dessert.” I pause. “Keith is sharing the kitchen? What the hell?” Keith does not like sharing his space when he’s cooking, what did Princess bake?” This was interesting. “I don’t know, didn’t ask, wanted it to be a surprise. What did you get Bella?” Bea asked making the other girls smirk for some reason. “I got her a necklace, that’s it, Jonathan didn’t say anything, so don’t ask. Give me the keys. I’ll drive back.” Ayana struggles for a moment before tossing me the keys. After getting out of my bath put on a light gray hoodie dress and head downstairs seeing Kay and Trent sitting at the table still arguing with one another. I call them over and they stop arguing. “It's time for another session of ‘Cooking With Bella!’,” I say as I order them around the kitchen. We made some Belgium waffle cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches w/ fries. “If you guys want to cook, come find me and we’ll cook together.” I offered as we ate. Their eyes shined, “Really? We get to learn how to cook and spend time with Bella this is great!” Kay excitedly said, Trent was trying hard to fight the smile forming on his face. “Thanks, shrimpy,” Keith said walking into the kitchen and ruffling my hair, as he grabbed his own plate. “Yeah, whatever. What are we having for dinner?” I asked Keith. He shrugged, “I’ll cook something though. You cooked lunch.” I opened my mouth to retort, but he gave me a look, so I closed it and change what I was gonna say. He gave me another look, but I shrugged, “I’m making dessert and you can’t stop me.” This time Kay jumped in, “I wouldn’t suggest that.” I raised an eyebrow. “Yea, Keith doesn’t like sharing when he cooks.” Trent finished. I smiled, “Well Keith is gonna learn today. It’s weird to cook alone. We can try it once and Keith if you still don’t like me cooking beside you, you can kick me out.” “Deal,” Keith said while rolling his eyes. Trent and Kay looked at each other, then looked back to their food and kept eating. A/N: With Mint and Jonathan Miranda are going to be characters in a separate book, so look out for that!
