I wake up from my sleep when I heard several loud knocks on the door.
“Bella, wake up.” I get up and shuffled to the door to open the door to Kay, “Morning beautiful, we’re going to go to your house and get your stuff. Shower and get dressed.”
“Get my stuff? I'm not going back home?” I ask confused.
Kay shook his head, “Your mother called Rowan last night and told him that you would be safer with us, so we're going back to your house to get your stuff.” I not my head in understanding.
“Mother must really trust you guys then, alright, one moment.” Kay nods and I close the door. I head to the shower and take off the big shirt I'm wearing and hop in.
After drying off I found a dark purple and black off the shoulder dress with a front-facing lace-up corset. I shrug and put it on. Luckily my shoes are practically clear, no color clashing for me!
I go walk downstairs playing with my ponytail and see Kay at the front door, “Hey beautiful. We're just waiting for a couple of other guys to come, but you can wait with Rowan and Keith in the truck.”
Kay opened the door for me and I slid in with a soft thank you.
“Morning Princess, glad to see you this morning,” Rowan said from beside me.
“Morning Rowan and Keith. ” Acknowledging both males. Keith didn't say anything, but he gave me a nod. Ok so Rowan’s the cocky flirt and Keith is the quiet type. Got it.
We were in comfortable silence, one where I had plenty of time to think about the events that transpired last night, I didn't realize that we arrived at my house, until I was shaken out of my thoughts.
“Sorry.” I get out and the sight of my burnt home upset me. Who would do something like this? I walk into the house. The kitchen and living room were charred. I tried to ignore it, but all I could see was the memories of the things we did in those rooms. I breathe out and walk upstairs to my room to calm myself.
My room wasn't bad, but it was severally damaged. I grab my suitcases and binds to start filling them with what I could. Keith and the other guys started moving my drawers, wardrobe, suitcases, and other things that weren't burnt.
I left my room and walked around before deciding to head into my parent's room to see if I could grab any photos or memories. I checked my Mom's closet and drawers, found somethings I wish I hadn't seen, but moving on I checked my Mother's closet and found a briefcase. I opened the silver briefcase and saw a lot of money and a gun within, I scrunched my face together in confusion at this discovery, but take the briefcase anyway and put it with the rest of my stuff in the trunk of the truck.
I get inside the truck and we drive back to the place that will be my home until everything gets sorted. I wonder why Mother had that briefcase in her closet.
This time on the ride I pay attention to the scenery and think of the lyrics to Colors of the Wind as we drove.
We reach the house as I finished my lyrics in my head and the guys started moving all the furniture into the room I was staying in. They set it where I asked them to place it and they put my bins and suitcases around the room for me to sort out. They left the briefcase on my bed. I looked around the room trying to think of a good spot to hide it. I go into the walk-in closet and try to find a loose panel or something. When I hear a knock on the door. I take out the gun and I slide it under my nightstand.
“COME IN!” one by one the three girls enter my room.
“Hey, girly, we just wanted to check on how you were doing,” Beatriz said coming closer to me and observing the room.
“It's good, I'm just putting away my clothes,” I say taking out more clothes and folding them.
“We can help if you'd like,” Joey said. I looked at the many suitcases and bins trying to decide.
“If it's not too much to ask.”
“Not a problem.” They grab bins and some hangers from the closet. Things were moving faster with the girl's help and they helped me finish. There would be somethings for me to fix, but I was thankful for their help.
“Thank you guys so much! This would've taken me forever. I really appreciate it.”
“Not a problem chica, we're always happy to help,” Beatriz said stretching.
“And we're just excited to have another girl in the group. So this was great bonding time!” Ayana exclaimed jumping up, Joey stood up from her kneeling position and nodded in agreement. I waved them off as they left. I go into the walk-in closet and hide it in a liftable seat and put my lingerie and winter coats in the seats.
I could go out and draw, I haven’t drawn in a while. I smile as I grab my notebook and some pens and pencils, then I opened the door and bumped into a leather-covered chest. I looked up and saw Keith. Well f**k.
“Watch it.” Keith snarled out
“f**k off it was an accident,” I growled back at Keith
His eyes widened for a second, but returned to its normal coldness and said nothing but glared at me as he walked away. I went downstairs and walked onto the wooden dock with a boat on the right side of the dock.
I smiled in content as I felt the light breeze passed through my hair and the sunset painting the sky lovely shades of purple, orange, pink, and blue. I saw a family of ducks swimming on the muddy bank across from me, birds flying above me, and some fish, even though the water was murky I saw them swimming about with the fading light source in front of me.
Kay’s POV
The group was in Rowan’s office discussing somethings, I don't know what, I don't pay attention to these meetings, they're boring as f**k.
I scanned the familiar room. Rowan’s office was filled to the brim with books. There was a desk and it held two chairs in front of it and couches like the one I was currently laying on.
I perked up when I heard Belladonna’s name brought up in the conversation though.
“I think having Belladonna is great, we get another girl to annoy the hell out of you guys, and it’ll finally be a fair fight when we do girls vs boys,” Joey said.
“She seems very sweet, nice, and well mannered.” Beatriz.
“I wonder if she's into boxing, or martial arts.” I shivered. I hope not I don't need another girl that can beat my ass.
“What do you boys think of her so far?”
“She’s feisty,” Keith spoke. We collectively raised an eyebrow at him.
“She bumped into me. I told her to watch it, she growled at me while saying ‘f**k off it was an accident’. I'm kinda surprised.” I stifle a gasp, Nobody has ever cussed at Keith and lived without a mark. Not even Rowan.
I guess we had the same thought, but nobody said anything.
“She's cute,” I say with a shrug, and the others groan, “I haven't really had any interaction with her and neither has Trent. What do you want me to say?”
“Something other than that.” Ayana groaned.
“Where is Bella?” Trent asks and we all go silent.
“She’s on the dock.” Keith finally answered. I get up and look out the window.
“Not anymore. She just left.” I say watching her head back inside as it got darker.
“Whose turn is to cook?” Trent asks and the room stays quiet as the people who can/allowed to cook look at each other as Trent and I walk out of Rowan’s office laughing, but stopped when we smelt something delicious and we ran downstairs.
We see Belladonna plating stuff, Trent and I look at each other and walk into the kitchen.
“Whatever you’re making, it smells delicious, whatcha making?” I say and I see Bella jump slightly before calming down.
“I was looking for someone to cook dinner with me, you guys wanna help me make dessert with me?”
“Bella you don't know this, but Trent and I aren't allowed in the kitchen.”
“I’ll supervise you guys, I don't like cooking and baking alone. Please.” Bella begged.
“When we burn the house down, I want you to take responsibility.” Bella simply shrugged and waved us into the kitchen.
