The Chairman's Wife

CHAPTER 1: Finally Home

The Yuan Family was very rich, they could even buy the whole China. That's why Daren Yuan was top 1 of the richest man in the world. That basically explains why we are riding on their family's personal plane.

"So how are you feeling?" Asked Siera Mei. I looked at her, She knows I don't wanna go back but faith always finds a way to ruin all my fun.

"f*****g Happy." I boredly answered. She laughs at it and throws a fruit at my face.

"You should know that swearing will be the death of you." She said. I perfectly know that, I was back to being the Barbie Doll everyone was envy about, I had to pretend that I was an angel, A well respected lady.

After 3minutes, we went out of the plane. Paparazzi was waiting for us at the Exit of the airport.

While waiting for my bags, I was scrolling thru my Twitter App, My name was now trending in China, reading some assumptions, Albert Tui, Darren's Secretary was informing of my schedule for today. "You'll be attending a Family Gathering at a French Restaurant. The Chairman will be with you there after he finishes his meetings."

"What If his meetings won't be finish on time? Will that be a reason for him not to accompany me there?" I randomly asked, still busy with my phone.

He clears his throat. "The Chairman will be there Madam, Mrs. Yuan's order."

I clenched my Jaws. Unbelievable! If his Mother did not insisted on him going to this gathering then he would not have a reason to go. What an asshole. "I see." I simply answered, trying to control my anger.

I faked a smile as I pass through the crowd and went inside the SUV. Flashing lights of the cameras was always the things I hated, It makes my head ache. Rubbing my forehead, my phone rang. It was Frei Yuan, Darren's sister.

"If I didn't open my social media accounts, I wouldn't have known that you're back! How could you Ruru!"

I rolled my eyes. "Well, you should ask your Grandfather. He forced me to go home immediately."

"That's because Daren is being a cocky asshole this past few days. He's like a zombie, working 24/7. Everyone in the family is worried, so what better way to distract him is his own wife."

"Ha-Ha very funny! What makes you think I could do that? I barely know him! We don't even talk and I don't wanna be close with a monster."

She laughs. "That Monster is your husband."

"Please stop reminding me. I'll see you later, My head aches." I sighed.

"Yeah okay. Oh! I saw those hate comments on your i********:. It's funny why fan girls of my brother keeps on claiming you as-"

"Bye Frei!.." I shouted through the phone.

I saw those comments, how can't I? It was on my freaking post where I took a selfie at the plane saying that I was going back home.

While half of the population was loving my outfit, Half of it was cursing me saying that I was not ment for Darren and that I should go back to where I belonged, which by the way I would love to do but I can't !

We stopped at my apartment, the whole building was owned by me. It was a wedding gift from Darwin Yuan, Darren's father. Another set of Paparazzi was present outside of the building.

After a long relaxing shower, I began looking through my walk-in closet, What would I wear? I needed to wear something more presentable but at the same time distractable. I mean, I don't mind Darren looking at me, who cares what his opinion is right?

The door in my room was pushed open, Xiao Mei entered carrying a purple dress. "Look what I've got. It was delivered here by Darren's driver." She said. I raised a brow. Him? Why would he bother?

"Don't fool yourself, it's imposssible. Maybe it's from his mom or maybe his mom force him to buy this for me." I said. Getting the dress.

"Maybe yes but maybe no." She answered. I put on the dress, it's imposssible for him to know my size cause it fits perfectly. Xiao Mei helped me with the zipper on the back.

"And also, His driver told me to bring you to his office after you're finish."

I immediately turned around. "What?!" I shouted with wide eyes. What is he up to? Why would he want me in his office? Can't I just go straight to that goddamn gathering without him?

"Yup and because of that I'll be doing your hair and make up, we wouldn't want his employees think that his wife is not as beautiful as what they expect her to be." She said pushing me in front of my vanity mirror.

"I don't feel good about this." I said.

"Shush. Your just nervous. I think this will make you feel better, Look." She gave me her phone, opening it I saw a post from Darren in his i********:. He was standing from his office while looking outside, still the serious face was there.

Finally seeing her later. Can't hide the fact that I'm excited and happy.

I read it like 5 times, Is he joking? Did he hurt his head or something? Why would he be excited to see me? Now his making me confused.

I slammed Mei's phone on the table. He was really pissing me off. Is he pretending to like me so the world would not judge him? He was acting so he'd play the role of a loving husband. What an asshole.

We were on our way to Darren's office. Luckily, paparazzi was no where to be found outside his building, no one would dare because everyone was afraid of being sued by his company.

I went out of the car and went inside, It was 3 in the afternoon so employees was having their break at the lobby. Everyone notices my arrival thats why it became silent all of the sudden.

Albert Tui appeared in front of me. "Mrs. Yuan welcome." He greeted while bowing, I nod and smiled. "The chairman's office is in the 15th floor. Please come with me."

We went inside the private elevator and head straight to 15th floor. Every staff in that floor was in chaos, You can hear a Man's voice shouting from a meeting room then people run out of the door. Is that him shouting?

"All of you are bunch of idiots! How can you not read that contract? Can you pay that compensation with your pay check?!" I'm sure it's him.

"Uhm. Mrs. Yuan, please wait at the Chairman's office, I'll inform him with your arrival." Albert Tei said. So this is what Frei was talking about. I look at my watch, If I'll wait for him in his office for a few more minutes we'll be late for the gathering.

So I did what I think is best for me to do. Instead of going inside the office, I barge in the meeting room where Darren was.

Albert Tui tried to stop me but failed. As I opened the door, every terrified soul was looking at me, as if pleading me to take their boss away.

For the first time in 5 years I felt as if my heart came back to life. It was beating faster as our eyes met. His eyes soften, Seeing his face has brought electricity to my whole body, He was still the handsome Guy I married after my highschool Graduation.

I turn my head slight to the side. "Sorry everyone for barging in. I'm afraid I have to take my husband somewhere important."

Darren clears his throat. "We'll continue this meeting tomorrow, be sure to be ready or else I'll have you all fired." He said still looking at me with an amused expression.

All of them hurriedly pickup their things and run outside, some were smiling at me and some mouthed thank you for saving their a*s.

Both me and Darren was the only one left in the room. "You can't barge in like that in the middle of an important meeting dear wife." He said taking off his tie.

I furrowed my brows. "Don't call me that when we're alone and will you please hurry up? We'll be late for the gathering." I was p*ssed. He was all relax there like we have nowhere to go.

"Oh please. Who cares of that stupid gathering. It's just a welcome party for you. Why would I bother go?" He answered.

I slammed my purse on the table. "You made me go all the way here and now your telling me that you won't go? Are you really p*ssing me off?!" I shouted.

He stood up. Anger was in his face. "Well maybe I am, and don't you dare raise your voice on me! You won't like it if it was me who's very p*ssed."

He walks out of the room, leaving me with my mouth slightly open. His so unbelievable! Me? Afraid of him? In his dreams!

I decided to wait in the parking lot for him, I've decided that if he wouldn't come down from his building in exactly 5minutes I'm definitely leaving him and go to that stupid gathering alone.

Scrolling thru my phone someone knocked my window. I look up and saw the devil himself.

"You get out of that f*cking car right now." He mouthed.

I rolled my eyes at him and do as he says. I followed him on his way to his Ferrari and slammed the door when I got inside.

"Are you trying to p*ssed me off? I don't care If your one spoiled brat but that attitude of yours doesn't make me bow down at your feet like everyone in the family." He started.

I decided to stay quiet, trying to hold back the tears. It's not my fault why his family adores me. I mean I'm just trying to be nice to everyone. I didn't intentionally do witch craft to get everyone's favor.

Darren zoomed the car away. Silent was eating us both inside, no one dared talk. After sometime we arrived at their mansion.

Marilyn, Xavier's Nanny was waiting for us outside. A big smile on her face appreared as we stopped right outside their door way.

"My Ruru! Welcome home!" She squiled with joy. I hug her back as she approach me.

"I have missed you Marilyn." I whispered. I back away as Darren cleared his throat.

She went for him and hugged him also. "If Ruisa didn't went home you wouldn't even set foot in here. Look at you! You silly boy!" She shouted at him. I heard chuckled.

"Nonsense. I was very busy at work." He said.

"Let's get you both lovebirds inside. Everyone is in the living room." She said pulling me inside and Darren following behind.

When we reach the living room everyone approach me and welcomed me home. Darren's cousins and Relatives was also here.

"Ruisa, How was your flight?" Darren's Mother Madam Charlotte asked.

"It was okay Mom. Thank you very much." I replied. She looks at me with joy. Darren's parents is so good to me. I'm so lucky to have them as my in laws, it's that their son whom I'm so unlucky.

"It's good that your finally back. I've arranged a party in celebration for your graduation. I'm so proud of you. You did very well." Darla, A sister of Darwin Yuan said.

"Oh no, you shouldn't have!" I refused.

"Nonsense child! Everyone should know that Darren's wife graduated at Harvard as Top 1, Your husband must be very proud of you." She replied.

A voice from behind interrupts. "Yes, I am."

They all squiled. "I never knew Darren here has a soft spot for someone. Your very lucky Ruisa." Dimitri, his cousin said.

I looked at him in annoyance. Now what role is he playing? Such a liar. Does he think I'll be happy with him fake wooing me around? In his f*cking dreams!

While greeting everyone in the family, I've notice that Darren's father was not around. "Where is Father?" I asked.

"He'll be here shortly dear. Your Grandfather called and made him pass by his Mansion for something very urgent. I'm afraid he can't be with us tonight." Mom had explained.

"Dad is really old. He's better resting in his Mansion until he regains his strength." Darla Said.

We all agreed. Grandfather Yuan was not getting young, While I was in abroad I've been receiving messages from Frei about his condition, Everyone was worried about it especially Darren's Father.

Our conversation has stopped when Marilyn informed everyone that the table was all set up so we continued everything over dinner.
