“I thought you were destined to be an architect.”
Inangat ko ang tingin. His arms were crossed as he stared at me.
I smiled a bit. “I thought so, too.”
After he gave his answer to my last question for this meeting, we fell silent. The tension was thicker than usual. I almost cried but I was able to hold those tears in. Mabuti na lang at binalikan kami ng kanyang kawaksi. If the maid didn’t come, hindi ko alam kung ano na ang ginagawa namin ngayon. I was able to kill the awkwardness between us by ‘admiring’ his pool. It was lame, but it was actually our salvation that time.
“When did you graduate?”
“Two years ago,” I proudly answered.
Tumango-tango siya. “It must have been hard for you since you already have a child while you were schooling.”
