Summer's POV
"Mr. Chavelier!"
As soon as the door of the elevator opened, a few men wearing black tuxedos came running inside. They took the handsome man with them and left me there as if nothing had happened. I picked up my things on the floor and went out immediately.
That man must be really someone important. Maybe he is an investor or a celebrity. Well, no doubt he is incredibly handsome, although he appears to have a mental illness.
"You mean, you got stuck inside an elevator with a handsome man?! What happened? Did the two of you kiss?!" Pen asked me excitedly while we were inside a bus going home.
I glared at her. "Aren't you going to ask me if I'm fine or if I got hurt or something?"
"Well, you're obviously fine! You got stuck with a handsome man inside the elevator. You must be so lucky!"
"You're crazy. Anyway, nothing really happened. He just hugged me."
And since my best friend is the best woman in over-reacting, she yelled at the top of her lungs, which made all the people inside the bus look in our direction. "He hugged you?! What the hell, Summer! You should date him!"
"What are you even saying? He just hugged me because he got too scared. He was freaking out and was about to have a seizure, so I had to calm him down. I didn't know he was going to hug me."
"Huh? He got too scared?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah. I know, maybe he has a mental illness. I didn't notice it because of his handsome face, but when he freaked out as if he was going to die on the spot, that's when I smelled something fishy."
"Oh, you have no hope. You got stuck inside an elevator with a handsome guy, but he has a mental illness. What the hell?!"
"Well, at least I somehow saved him. And besides, I am not looking for a boyfriend. I need a job."
"Speaking of finding a job, what happened to your interview?"
I gave her you-already-know-it look. "As usual, they told me they would just call me. I don't really know what I would do now. Maybe I should just look for an old, rich man I can marry."
"Come on, don't lose hope. Just keep on applying to different companies and, for sure, they would eventually hire you."
"I hope so."
"By the way, that handsome man you were talking about a while ago, do you know his name?"
"His name? I didn't ask him, but I think I heard his men called him Sir Chavelier."
Pen's eyes widened. "Chavelier?! Do you mean Samuel Klein Chavelier?!"
"Huh? I don't know."
"Wait, is it him?" she asked as she showed me a photo of a man wearing a black tuxedo.
I nodded my head. "Yes, that's absolutely him."
"Oh my God, Summer! You just hit the jackpot! This is none other than Samuel Klein Chavelier! The most successful CEO in the country!"
"T-That man is a CEO? How come?"
"Well, he is just the one and only son of one of the most successful tycoons in the world, Mr. Cedric Chavelier, and a famous fashion designer Amber Ronalds."
My eyes immediately widened because of what she had just said. "W-What?! Amber Ronalds and Cedric Chavelier?! Are you even serious?!"
"Uh-huh. I am telling the truth."
"Ah, you must have told me earlier. I would've seduced him while we were inside the elevator so I could be the daughter-in-law of the Chaveliers."
Pen and I looked at each other. Then, later on, we both burst into laughter.
Samuel's POV
"Samuel! Oh my God! Are you alright?!" mom started checking every part of my body as soon as she stepped inside my mansion together with dad.
I furrowed my brows as I gently pushed her away from me. "I didn't die. What are you doing here?"
"We were so worried about you when we heard that you got stuck inside an elevator during the earthquake. Thank goodness you're alright or I wouldn't know what I would do!"
"I'm alright. There's nothing for you to worry about."
"We're glad to hear that. By the way, did anything happen inside the elevator? I mean, did he appear again?"
That's when I remember what happened inside the elevator during the earthquake. An ugly woman helped me calm down. I really hate it when an earthquake happens, because that's when my sickness actually attacks, but for some reason, when that woman touched me, I suddenly felt safe and calmed down.
"He didn't. Can you just leave now? I still have a lot of things to do." I said.
"That's strange though, he usually appears at times like that, right? I wonder what stopped him from taking over." dad said.
"I don't know either, okay? Just leave now."
In the end, they just nodded their heads and left. I went upstairs, straight to my office, and sat on my swivel chair.
That was the very first time that happened to me.
Who is that woman?
How can she even have that effect on me when I barely even know her? How can she stop Liam from showing up just by touching me?
I shook my head and took a sip of my coffee.
Maybe it was just a coincidence. There is no way someone could ever do that. Not an ugly woman like her.
"Well, just like what you said, that must just be a coincidence. I mean, that was the very first time that you've seen her, right? It's not like she always has the capability to stop Liam from showing up." said Beatrice, my personal psychiatrist.
I nodded my head. "I knew it. After all, there is no one in this world who can stop an alter from showing up."
"But at least you are still trying your best for him not to show up. I mean, the last time he showed up was last week, right?"
