“ROXY...ROXY PLEASE WAKE UP!” A voice says and I found myself parked in front of my house in Jessica’s car with Jess standing by side of the door.
“Roxy, are you okay?” Jess says to me with a worried look. “You were stone cold; I couldn’t wake you up. It was as if you were dead.”
I nodded my head, still gasping for breath and to lower my heart rate.
‘Was that a dream?’ I think ‘It has to be.’
The voices in my head starts to laugh, but the didn’t say a word.
That was something different. Ever since the voices started growing showing and appearing more often, I couldn’t tell what is real or fake anymore. My reality and the darkness are now one in the same, and it’s growing so strong I can’t stop it.
Why must this happen to me on my birthday, and why did it have to happen in front of Jessica.
That’s right, the darkness shows no remorse for me. It comes from me no matter the day it happens and if definitely does not give a damn about who is around when it does happen.
I was so lost in my own thought I completely forgot Jess was still next to me.
“Roxy you sure you okay? I can hear your heart and we can call your parents…” she starts but I cut her off.
“I SAID I’M FINE!” I yelled at her, making her wince back.
My parents can not find out about my curse. No one can. This is a battle that I must keep fighting, alone.
I shook my head, “I’m sorry Jess. I just get like this sometimes. Please don’t tell anyone okay?”
She was hesitant, but she just nodded.
After a few moments, I was able to calm myself. So I grabbed my bags and headed for the door.
“Let’s go model in these outfits.” I said to her and smiled. She gave me a stiff smile, still concerned about what just happened.
When I opened the door, I heard a loud “Surprise!” from a whole bunch of people.
My whole family; Mom, Dad, Daniel, Brandon and along with a few other people were in the living room with streamers, music and balloons hanging everywhere.
“You guys are going to give me a heart attack I swear.” I say to them while holding my chest.
My mother runs up to me and smiles.
“That’s not the only surprise. Come to the dining room.” She says while pulling my hand. I looked at my dad and Daniel, but they were no help. They just had this big goofy grin on their face. Daniel kept raising his eyebrows up and down like he knows something.
I looked at Jess who still had that worried expression on her face.
‘Roxy, sooner or later you’re going to have to tell her about us.’ Lucy says to me.
‘She can’t find out about you guys, about the voices.’ I say to her
‘Roxy, the voices are growing stronger by the day and the hour.’ Lucy starts. ‘Sometimes they get so strong you can’t here us. You need someone to help bring you back.’
‘I hate to be that person, but she’s right. Roxy.’ Rose says.
‘I know she’s my best friend and I want to tell her but this darkness, these voices. Only I can hear them. What if she thinks I’m crazy?’ I ask them.
‘She’s your best friend. If you can’t trust your best friend, who can you trust?’ Lucy says to me.
As usual, Lucy is right.
I can’t keep doing this alone.
While my mother started pulling me closer to the dining room my body started to feel funny. The the smell of pine and lavender hit my nose and my body started to tingle and heat up. This feeling reminds me of the encounter I had in training today. His hand caressing all over my body, my chest, my stomach and my sweet spot. It was as if the gorgeous man—the one who is destined to be my mate, was right here, touching my body all over again. Almost as if…
Oh no, it can't be him.
By the time I realized it, it was too late. I’m already in the dinning room with Alexander sitting at the table in front of my lit cake. The way the candlelight lit up his face, showing his defined jawline, the stubble hair on his face made him dangerous. Gosh this man is so f*****g sexy.
I’m so turned on right now my legs are shaking, and I’m so wet it’s soaked through my pants.
He smiled as if he knew that his presence alone could make my body feel this way.
“Happy Birthday Roxy.” He says while looking at me with those smoldering sexy green eyes.
‘Best birthday every!’ Rose and Lucy squeals.
‘Lucy you’re with the shits too?’ I ask her.
‘Sorry Roxy, he’s really hot.’ Lucy says.
I watch as Alexander gets up from his chair and walks to me, stalking me.
“Alexander agreed to have dinner with us, isn’t that wonderful?” My mom says.
I didn’t respond, I couldn’t.
I was too focused on not ripping his clothes off and attacking him right here, right now.
“I’m sorry to intrude,” he whispers to me, “your father invited me to dinner and I’m very horny—I mean hungry. I hope you didn’t mind.” He says while having the nerve to smile at me.
I forced a smile back, “Not at all.”
He looked at me for a while and starts to laugh. “This is going to be fun.” He says while putting his hand on my shoulder.
Why is that whenever this man touch me, I’m so enchanted by him? I should be the one in control here not him.
I smiled at him after finally regaining my bearings. While looking at him I touched his fingers lightly, sending sparks all over my body. He must have felt it too because he was looking hard at me, no longer laughing.
I got on my toes so that I was right next to his ear and whispered, “Yes, this is going to be fun.” He growled at how close I was to him. Then I walked away from him and headed upstairs.
“Mom, let me change a little to ‘entertain’ my guests.” I said, looking directly at him when I said ‘entertain.’
His eyes didn’t go black like they normally do but he was tensed. Good, I want him to be like that all night.
He wanted to play this game, fine let’s play.
