Chapter 13: This is my Hell

-Jessica-

I am in Hell, I’m sure of it. That’s the only explanation for this, this torment that surrounds me. The screams that haunt me, the smell of flesh burning around me that I cannot get away from. This was my punishment for taking my life. When I looked around, I was in such a state of shock and horror that all I could do was turn my body to look at my surroundings. My feet, which feels like weights were resting on them, would not dare to move a budge.

This place, that resembles a narrow walkway in a canyon, seems to have no beginning and no end. The rock wall that is nothing but inches close to me had bodies that were morphed into it. The bodies were still but their eyes were looking at me. Please tell me these people are dead. Are they still in pain? How can they still be alive in this place?

While lost in thought, I found myself looking at a face that seems to resemble someone I may have known. The weights that were holding me down, lifted and I walked cautiously to this person. The closer I got, the more familiar it was.

“Who are you?” I said, while reaching my hand to the persons face. When my skin made contact with this person, pictures flashed of Roxy’s face appeared in my head causing me to back away.

“Roxy, why are you hear?” My voice breaks while looking at her. Her mouth was moving, but whatever she was saying I was unable to hear it.

“Roxy, what are you saying, why are you here?” I asked while my heart was racing. My skin became wet with moist and hot, almost as if I were being in an oven cooked alive. I got close to her to try and hear what she was saying.

“Please…” was one of the words I heard.

“Please, what?” I said to her, leaning my head towards hers.

“Please… save…them.” She said and I watched in horror as her body, along with all the other body parts on that wall burn in bright flames.

“ROXY NO!” I yelled to her while trying to touch her. But when I touched the flames, I was burned so bad my whole arm was seared. This pain was like any other fire burns that I dealt with. It was as if the flame were burning me from the inside out my soul along with it.

“Roxy what is this? I am in so much pain. Please come back!” I said, reaching out to her without touching the flames with my other hand. I wanted to touch her so bad, to kiss her and apologize for leaving her like this. I wanted to let her know that even though she was with that damn man, I would still fight him for her. “Roxy, I’m so sorry. I love you so much!” I said while the tears that were trying to shed, evaporated before it reached my cheeks.

Her hand started to shift in the fire and her index finger extended while the others closed. She was trying to point to something. Looking at the direction she was pointing I saw something big in the distance.

“No no no, Roxy I don’t want to leave you.” I said looking back at her, but she just kept staring at me never moving her eyes from mines.

‘Go’ a voice says in my head. I shook my head.

“I will not leave you Roxy.”

‘Go’ the voices says again.

“No, please don’t make me.”

‘GO’ the voice yelled, causing me to back up.

My tears continued to fall and evaporate as I look at the love of my life burned, while trap within this wall.

“Okay, I will go. But know this, I will come back for you.” I said to her.

She looks at me for a moment one more time before closing her eyes. The flames cover her face so much, so I am unable to see her anymore.

“Roxy!” I said coming to her, but the burning in my arms grew.

I turn my body and walked to the big object that Roxy pointed to me.

As I continued to walk the flames continued to grow all around me. Screams could be heard by the bodies on the wall and some of the bodies that I saw lying on the floor that was also covered in flames. How did I get to this place? I always thought dying being a devoted follower of the Moon Goddess would grant you everlasting peace in the afterlife. Why did I kill myself? I don’t even remember having the urge until, until…

‘Run’ a voice says in my head, just as I heard something behind me.

Turning around I stared in horror as a ball a flame is rolling towards me. Bodies could be seen within the ball as they are rolled over and over repeatedly.

‘RUN!’ the voice says, and I took off.

‘Don’t let the flames touch us, don’t let the flame touch us, don’t let the flames touch us.’ The voice in my head says repeatedly. “I don’t want to be touched by the flames again.” I said while still running.

Even though my body is weak and exhausted I still kept running, getting closer to whatever it is that Roxy wanted me to go to. After running for what seems to be hours, I was finally there. My body was so worn, I could barely do anything; move, think and even see straight. I turned back around and noticed that the ball of flames that was coming for me had disappear. Along with the flames that were on the walls covering the body.

“What the…” I started to say but was cut off by the sound of someone saying “Help me”

Looking back at the big object that stood before me, once again I stood in horror to see the body of Roxy, but all of my family, her family, and all those in the pack were stacked on top of each other with their skin severely burned.

“Jess help us!” Roxy says.

“Jess please save us.” My brother Caden said.

“Jess save us please.” Alpha Lucas said.

Everyone was begging me to save them.

“How can I save you all, please tell me?” I yelled to them, trying to get them to hear me. But everyone is screaming in pain, they can’t hear me.

Just when I’m about to yell again, I felt it again. The rumble, the same rumble that I felt just a moment ago. I quickly turned around and saw that the ball of fire that was chasing me early had come back, this time moving much faster than it was before.

I turned my body around to try and shield everyone from this fire that kept coming forward. “I will not let you touch them.” I said backing up so close I can feel them behind me.

“Jess please help us, save us from him” A voice said behind me.

“Him?” I asked in question. They cannot see that this is a ball not a man?

“Please protect us from him.” The voice said again, this time everyone started saying it.

“Don’t worry, on my life I will protect you all.” I said

I stood there and waited but while I waited, I noticed something different. As the ball continued to speed towards me, I noticed that the ball started to shrink. The closer it got the smaller this ball was. Soon the ball was so close it almost resembles a figure.

“Do you think you can save them? Jessica?” A voice said from the figure.

“Even if it cost me my life, I will fight for my pack.”

The figure halted in front of me. The face is still blurry to my but his eyes. Those red demonic eyes looked down at me and laughed.

“Why would you waste your life on a pack that doesn’t even want you.” He said while looking past me. When I turn turned around, my pack was no longer on top of each other, but was standing next together side by side and bearing their fangs against me.

“What did you…” I started to say while turning around but when I faced him, he thrust his hand in my chest, holding my heart.  The pain and agony were so much all I could do was yell out and cry.

“Your dead, your pack is dead and as for Roxanne, I will grant her something far worse than death.” He said laughing and pulled out my heart.

As I lay on the floor bleeding out and staring at his face, I realized that this figured out who he was. I looked at his face, his deadly eyes, the scar, the sinister grin, I remembered it all. If I were to ever revive or wake up from this nightmare. I will make sure that he would pay.

‘Alexander will die by my hands.’ was all I could think before closing my eyes letting the darkness consume me again.

‘WAKE UP’ I heard in the darkness and my eyes snapped open.

My body jolted up and I had to catch my breathe.

“Relax Ms. Jessica.” I heard a voice say next to me. I quickly turned around and found my self in the face of what has to be an angel.

This woman was extremely fair skinned, with rosy cheeks and nose. Her eyes that were as golden as the sun; hair so white it resembles the snow that falls in the winter and it was long that it covered her naked pale body. Her lips that was small and red smiled at me.  

“Don’t be alarm, you are safe.” She said, her voice calming me.

“Where was I, I though I was dead and he he…” I stuttered.

She hushed me and touched my arm.

“You are in between death and life.” She said while waving her hands around. I looked at this place in awe. The skies above us was filled with stars and had two bright moons that shined bright. The grass that I was laying on was filled with plants that seem to glow in the dark and there were trees and animals of all kind that went by us. Not paying us no mind.

“This place, Inter Caelum et Infernum, or between heaven in hell is a place of peace. A place of rebirth.”

“A place of rebirth?” I asked.

“Yes, you see I brought you here because it is time for you to become what you are meant to be.”

“And that is?”

“A warrior and a servant of the Moon Goddess.” She said touching me and pictures flashed in my head.

“What was that?” I asked

“A glimpse of your future.”

“I am confused, what just happened to me? Where was I? What is going on?” I said to her backing away.

She looked at me and gave me a quick peck on my forehead before getting up. Her body shining even brighter under the moonlight left me breathless.

‘She’s got a hot body.’ A voice said in my head.

“Thank you my dear.” She said out loud while reaching out for my hand.

“Wait I didn’t say anything.” I said to her embarrassed about my rude thoughts.

“I know, Reya did.” She said.

“Who’s Reya?”

‘I’m your wolf you dumb-ass.’ Reya said sounding a bit annoyed.

I was going to say something, but the woman interrupted.

“Please refrain from using such language here Reya.”

‘I’m sorry.’ She said before staying quiet.

“Listen my dear. You have so much questions and I have the answers you seek. I will tell you everything that your heart desires, but you must do me a favor. I only have a month to teach you everything to prepare you to protect your pack, your love. Alzar is coming and what you saw was just a vision. He is coming and he will take everything from you and Alexander.

That name, the putrid name. He killed me, he will betray them and kill them all.

“That was not him, Alzar and Alexander have a history that you must learn in order to defeat him. Alexander is not the enemy, in fact you will learn to love him as Roxy has, but now we must prepare you.”

I scoffed; I will not stand to love him for taking what is mines.

She gets on her knees and grabs my two shoulders, looking me directly in the eyes.

“Jessica, Alzar is planning to wipe out your pack and Alexander packs. If he does that, than all of the werewolves around the world will perish.”

I looked at her eyes and saw that the smile she had was completely gone.

“Back when you were in hell you said you would do anything to save your pack, is that still true?” I nodded “Then accept the Moon Goddesses call to servitude and we shall begin.”

I looked at her and stood. I made a mistake once thinking ending my life would be the way out. I will not make that same mistake.

As I look to the two moons, I balled my fist and call out “Moon Goddess, I accept your calling.”

I felt something burn my hands, but it wasn’t painful at all. I opened my hands and saw that two circles were drawn on my hand one was the full moon stained in my blood and next was a star.

“These marking will grant you unheard of powers and with your wolf appearing as well as my teachings, we will have you prepared for what’s to come.” She said while extending her hand for me to hold, I grabbed it. “Let us begin.”

“What is your name?” I asked her.

She looks at me and grins almost as if there is something I was missing.

“My friend, you can call me Lucy.”
