Chapter 30 - Visit From a Ghost
I woke up the next morning with a really dry mouth and agonizing headache. My face was stuffed into the corner of the couch, which made it really difficult to breathe. The curtains were wide open, letting all the sunlight outside come through the windows. I groaned, slowly rolling over and covering my face with my hands.
"Well look at that, sleeping beauty is alive after all," my mom's voice said, making me stiffen. "Don't pretend I'm not here, that's not helping you at all."
"I'm sorry," I said, moving my hands from my eyes. It took a second for me to adjust, but when I did I saw my mom sitting across from me, eyes narrowed and arms crossed. Her cheeks were flushed red, and her mouth was twitching in anger. She was pissed.
