Chapter 17 - Honeymoon: No Rules

Maldives. 1 week later. No CEO. No assistant. No phone. Just me, Alexander, and the ocean. The villa was over the water. Glass floor. You could see the fish swimming under us. "Stop staring." He said from behind me. I turned. He was only in swim shorts. No shirt. "I'm not staring." I lied. He smirked. "Liar." Then he picked me up. Bridal style. "Alexander!" I squealed. "Put me down!" "Never." He carried me to the pool. Then jumped. We came up laughing. Water in my hair. His arms around my waist. "No contract here." He whispered in my ear. "No rules." "Good." I wrapped my legs around him. "Because I want to break all of them." His eyes went dark. "Be careful what you wish for, Mrs. Virel." That night, dinner was on the deck. Candlelight. Stars. No cameras. No board. No fake smiles. "To us." He raised his wine glass. "For real this time." "To us." I clinked my glass to his. After dinner, he pulled me to the beach. Barefoot. The sand was cold. The waves were loud. He stopped. Turned me to face him. "I have something to say." "You're scaring me." He smiled. Soft. "I love you, Isabella. Not because of the contract. Not because of the hospital. Because of you. Your laugh. Your stubbornness. The way you feed strays." Tears. "You i***t. You're making me cry on our honeymoon." "Is that a yes?" He teased. "That you love me too?" I hit his chest. "Yes. You dumb, rich, possessive i***t. I love you too." He kissed me. Right there under the stars. With the ocean as our witness. And for the first time in my life... I had no plans. No deadlines. No debt. Just love. And him.
