Exiting his room, Riley couldn’t believe that he had actually just met the devil and, furthermore, that he had just turned down an opportunity to have his wife back. He was of the understanding that the devil wanted him, according to what Jonathan had told him. But now he knew that it wasn’t he whom the Devil wanted—it was his guardian, Jonathan. Riley felt like he had been lied to on both sides. The Devil he expected it from, but he wanted to believe everything Jonathan was telling him was mostly true. Only to learn now that he had more questions for the new addition to his life. The door to Jonathan’s room was wide open. As Riley looked inside, he discovered that the room was empty.
