LIFE IN ORPHANAGE

MORNING

As soon as I opened my eyes this morning, I saw the housekeeper of my orphanage Mrs. vera waiting to pick me up. she didn't talk much she just said: "We should hurry" her voice was stern. I got ready in a flash and we were all set to depart. I requested her to meet Doctor Simon one last time before we could depart but Mrs. vera refused my request. When I was insisting on meeting Doctor Simon the nurse who is in charge of my room came to me and handed over a card. I asked her what is in this card she told that it was Doctor Simon's card, due to some emergency he was not able to come today so, he told me to hand over his personal card to you.

I clenched the card tightly in my arms and left the hospital with Mrs Vera.

when I came out of the hospital a small van was waiting for me and Mrs Vera to get in. That Van has our Orphanage name on top of its front glass. while I am about to enter the van vera just forcefully pushed me inside. Ahh..... it hurts why are you pushing me, I asked her she just answered me in an annoyed tone that I am too slow. After two days of travel from the city, we reached the village in which our Orphanage is situated. Mrs Vera treated me coldly throughout the journey it's as if she gets disgusted by the mere sight of me.

I entered the Blue moon orphanage without any expectations, from Mrs Vera's cold treatment I understood one thing an Orphan should not have any expectations in their life. they should just follow the flow of life.

After the formalities, I went to see my room it has a medium size clock on the wall, I noticed the time it's 5:30 PM. My room consists of 3 bunk beds. There was no one in that room since I am so exhausted from the journey I slept in the first bunk bed.

After a few hours

"hey you wake up hey...... don't you hear me wake up" slowly these words reached my ear I could feel someone was shaking me vigorously. when I opened my eyes I noticed a girl with 2 ponytails with 3 other people standing behind her.

" How dare you sleep on my bed get down now" " hey... I am talking to you get down now... are you deaf" I barely managed to move my body since I had only a glass of milk in the morning after that I didn't eat anything. I sat up straight in the bed and said that I am sorry I don't know it's your bed even after hearing that her anger did not subside. she grabbed me hard and pushed me down. " Clara it's enough, she said she is sorry". "Since she is new here she may not know that is your bed she already apologized to you". "Why are you being rude to her". " Shut up Emily why are you siding with a newcomer" Clara shouted at her who spoke for my sake. " yes Clara is right" " why is she sleeping on her bed? Clara just touched her any way she fell on her own to create a scene " Wenya spoke in favour of Clara. The last girl Gia who noticed the whole commotion left to her bed without involving in this matter.

After that, I apologized again to her and went out of the room immediately. That time I don't know it is just the beginning of my stressful life. I don't know what I did to Clara and Wenya. Clara started to bully me almost every day and Wenya would Support her actions. I tried many times to make them my friends but they treated me as their enemy. Emily will talk to me sometimes but we are not that close because she is also afraid of Clara and the other girl Gia she won't talk to anyone unless it is something really important. Even I talked to her only three times.

Now after 1 year in the Blue Moon orphanage

I am accustomed to Clara's bullying. In the meanwhile, Gia transferred to a new school, she is an excellent student so she got a scholarship and moved to the city and Emily got adopted by a family. I was very timid to go against Clara even the orphanage People know she has been bullying me but they turned a blind eye as they considered it as a quarrel among children.

It was like any other day Clara hit me with the ball she was playing, I fell on the cement ground and my knee started bleeding. I stood up and went towards the medical room there I noticed a woman who was in her late 30s in the main office with 2 big suitcases.

(Suddenly) Someone poked my back, when I turned to take a look there was a girl who is about my age, she was smiling brightly at me. "Hy nice to meet you I am Jona". Before I could talk anything I hissed in pain she noticed my knee was bleeding. "Oh my god you are bleeding mom...... mom..... she is bleeding" that girl shouted frantically. On hearing that soon the lady with 2 big suitcases dropped them instantly and rushed to my side. " Mom... see her knee she is bleeding profusely". "Oh dear, it will be alright" she supported me to the medical room. She is Jona's mom that time I felt a little bit happy. There are still people out there to worry about me, tears gushed down from my eyes. Jona's mom started to pacify me ( it's okay dear.... it's okay).

From that moment Jona and her mom became the two most beloved persons in my life.

"cough cough..... Martha who is reminiscing these memories in her last moments coughed few drops of blood"

Character Sketch

Martha (Orphan) - the main protagonist, lost her memory in an accident. she has a timid personality and she never stood up for herself and let her be bullied by Clara and Wenya. After Jona and her mom Kate came into Martha's life she found her long lost smile back in her life. They both became Martha's family.

Jona - Main protagonist's best friend. She is a cheerful and brave girl. Protects Martha from Clara's bullying. she treats Martha like her own sister. she always encourages and supports Martha. Same age as the MC.

Kate - MC's mother figure and Jona's real mother. she is a widow who joined as a cook in Blue Moon Orphanage. she takes care of MC as her own daughter and wished for her well being.

Clara (Orphan) - She didn't like MC from the first day of her arrival. Since day one she always bullies MC and plays little tricks on her. when MC suffers she is the first one to be happy. Older than MC by a year.

Wenya (Orphan) - she always sides with Clara in whatever she does. Older than MC by a year.

Emily (Orphan) - she was a neutral one she occasionally defends MC but not every time. Soon she was adopted by a new family. she is Older than MC by a year

Gia (Orphan) - she is the quite one. she never bothered with any of them. she only minds her business. She is excellent in her studies. she got a scholarship and moved to the city. she is same age as the MC.

Doctor Simon - He was the first person to treat MC kindly when she was in the hospital. He is a great Doctor and took care of MC like her Own father in the hospital.

Mrs Vera - Housekeeper of the Blue Moon Orphanage. She treated MC coldly from the beginning without any reason. MC thought it was her personality but that's not true. she was cold only to MC.

Stephen - The man with a big beard (mentioned in Chap 1) is the head of Blue Moon Orphanage. He is a mysterious person.
