Chapter 7Sean took care of things at the funeral home and got back on the highway. With the steering wheel in one hand and his crumpled map in the other, he squinted at the small lettering on street signs, pumping his brakes when the names were hard to make out. This prompted the honks of horns behind him, which Sean merely swore off. By the time he found what he was looking for, the sun had descended below a string of impending rain clouds and was beginning to disappear behind the uneven tips of an impenetrable wall of pine trees that stood to the west. The tilted sign was short, sun-faded, and partially concealed by some overgrown shrubs.
