The Dream or would I say nightmare shattered, leaving me breathless, I was running through darkness, Something was chasing me. Something with glowing eyes and sharp teeth. I can still hear it breathing. Getting closer. Closer.
Then I was falling. Endless falling. Reaching for something. Someone. But there was nothing. Just empty air and the certainty that I was going to die alone.
I wake up gasping. My heart pounds against my ribs. Sweat soaks through my shirt.
"Adrian." I reach across the bed. My hand finds only cold sheets. Empty space.
He is gone.
Panic flares. Fresh and sharp. Where is he? Why did he leave me alone?
I sit up. The room is dark except for moonlight streaming through the windows. The clock says it is almost four in the morning.
I get up on shaky legs. Pull on sweat
