(April’s POV)
“Hey, don’t do that! I told you when we arrived. How was I supposed to know all h*ll had been breaking loose at the same time we were pulling up to their kingdom?” I knew this was going to be a difficult conversation. But you'd think he'd at least attempt not to growl at me right now. Especially since I'm holding up my end of our agreement right now. He's so critical of everything I do. I swear.
And yeah, I suppose I could have just stayed out of things. But that’s just not me. And he knows that.
“April, I’m not saying you should've known what was happening, but did you really need to get involved?” Alex asked and I almost chuckled. It was like he was reading my mind or something, but even we can’t do that from this distance.
