(Alex’s POV)
We took our sweet time getting back. Not just to prolong the suffering of the warriors but also because those she-wolves and pups weren’t in the best of conditions. I’ve actually never seen a more scraggly bunch in my life outside of those who’d survived their pack being attacked. It was truly very sad.
After everything was all said and done it was really late so we decided to spend the night camped in their front courtyard. We were fine to travel through the night but these she-wolves and pups weren’t. So we thought it best to start out just before dawn.
