“Yea, or he’s lying to save his own sorry as*.” Alex said, giving me a hard look as though he wanted me to back his play on this. But Lawrence answered truthfully, I know he did. None of our lie detection skills went off or someone would have said so by now.
My only recourse was to speak with him through mind-link so I didn’t openly go against him. “Zan, come on. You know he’s not lying. Trying to act like he is is only wasting valuable time.”
“Maybe he didn’t actually try and take her but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have a hand in it.” I just sighed. He was being stubborn and I don’t have time for stubbornness. So I turned to Lawrence and asked point blank. “Rence? Did you have anything at all to do with what happened at the school?”
