I told Alex I was tired and wanted to get some sleep. I only wish I could shut my brain off long enough to actually do so.
I can’t get it all off my mind. I’ve tried. I’ve even tried counting sheep, reciting poetry I find boring, watching the clouds go by, and connecting the dots on the ceiling, turning them into farm animals and sh*t.
Every time, my thoughts just kept seeping back in. It was like I couldn’t get away from them. “Goddess, I miss you Rai.” I whispered into the night as a stray tear slid down my cheek.
