(April’s POV)
The gang started to show up right after that though, thankfully, Bethany had already eaten her pickle at the time. Once everyone was there, the evening went smoothly enough, except for one minor incident, but we'll get to that in a minute.
I was glad to see that Kraig brought Ardiana with him, so we got the chance to get to know her a little better.
It was truly adorable watching that big tough and crazy vamp dote on his mate like she was some delicate flower. “Are all mates like this?” She asked me privately, and I just laughed softly and nodded as I said, “Pretty much. Once we find our true mates, it’s game over for us. You guys don’t experience it the same way, but your bonds seem to be pretty solid too.”
