(Alex’s POV)
When I saw Adrianna kneeling before that woman, I instinctively reached to stop April from rushing over there. Turns out, I was reaching for the wrong person.
I don’t think the Goddess herself could’ve stopped Kraig just then. He moves so fast I’m certain no one in the room outside our group, that is, even noticed him. But in the blink of an eye he had Adrianna cradled in his arms and was back by Mason’s side.
What surprised me was that Mason and Jessie seemed a bit surprised by his speed. This, on top of Mason also picking up on Louis’ lies. It’s strange that they seem to be picking up powers. But that’s something to ponder over later.
“What’s going on here?” Mason asked, motioning to the platform where the two thrones were situated, and the woman just rising to her fee
