Auditions and Desperation

Past one week every girl of her school was busy rehearsing in their home for their respective performances in front of Harsh.
Ash invited all of her three friends to her home to help her in rehearsing. But Vasu and Nandu smoothly rejected her making some excuse as they both also want to rehearse. After all its about harsh, and they didn't wanted to miss any chance to impress him.
Vasu's madness for him was always evident to all. Nandu was a secret admirer and more of like a stalker.
She will check his f******k and twitter accounts, but when anyone tell her some gossip that they found on social media about him, she would simply nod and say 'oh really?I didn't know'.
And Kavi would always enjoy listening to whatever they say about him either its good or bad.
Since Nandu and Vasu said no to ash, kavi decided to accompany her. Kavi was probably the only girl who wasn't practicing for the auditions because she can't dance and she didn't wanted make fun of herself in front of the crowd and most importantly in front of Harsh.
Dance was never her thing. So she decided to watch him from afar and which was enough for her.
She was just wishing to god that anyone of her friends gets selected and the programme ends decently. One week flew away in a blink.
By now every girl of tenth standard was ready with her killer moves to woo Harsh. All the students assembled in the school's auditorium and were waiting eagerly for that one person to come.
"Kaviii!!!" Ash,nandu and vasu yelled in unison in excitement. They were looking breathtaking in their outfits, which they wore for the auditions.
Kavi was sitting in the last row to avoid embarrassment, anyone may ask her why isn't she participating in the auditions and she will have to answer stupidly that she can't dance.
Looking at her friends she felt very proud to be friends with such beautiful girls. She gave them a thumbs up smiling happily. But passed comments on them in her mind 'Ash is looking killer&sexy in her short dress', 'Nandu is way pretty in her long gown which was perfectly hugging her curves', and 'vasu is looking elegant in her indian avatar'.
Kavi was wearing a loose printed top and a red colour knee length skirt. She left her hair undone as she loved them like that.
Ash and vasu waved her bye to in the front row whereas Nandu chose to sit back with her as she was feeling a little bit awkward with her dress. Being a typical brahmin girl she never wore such kind of dresses.
"Your attention please. So students Harsh Arya is already here with his team" all the students sitting in the auditorium including boys cheered loudly as the principal spoke out on the stage.
Even boys were willing to meet harsh so that they can ask him tips on football as his football skills took their school to state level during his time.
All the student's eyes stick on to the entrance of the auditorium waiting for his arrival. They were clapping and shouting for his welcome.
"Students calm down. They're are not coming to the auditorium but they're been provided with a separate room to conduct audition. After they select their dance partner from among you they'll address you here. Okay?" the principal cleared their confusion.
"So whoever is willing to give the audition, please this way"the principal spoke as he got down the stage and led all the girls to the audition room. Nandu waved kavi bye as kavi showed her thumb up and kavi was left alone with the boys.
She felt uncomfortable as all the boys were staring at her stupidly so she made her way out of the auditorium and went to canteen to gain some strength so that she won't faint watching her crush standing in front of her.
She felt very disheartened and at the same time angry with herself for not learning dance during her childhood.
Her father always insisted her when she was a kid to go and learn dance in the temple. The temple's trustees provided free classical dance coaching. But she didn't gave it a damn at that time and now she was regretting for not listening to her father.
After having sipping her juice she went back to the auditorium where already many girls were waiting for their result after finishing their audition.
"Sia?how did your audition went?" kavi approached a good friend as she couldn't find her best friends.
"Ohh kavi, it went nice. They said I was good"the girl replied.
" Great. So where are others? "she asked moving her head left to right searching for them.
" You mean ash,nandu and vasu? They are yet to complete I guess "she replied. Kavi smiled at her and went back to her back row seat.
After about half an hour of waiting idlely she saw her three friends running towards her happily. They all gave her a bone crushing hug which means their audition was great.
They all dragged her to come to the front row but she was skeptical. However she was defeated before their happiness. But she was afraid, only one of the three will be chosen by him, then what about her other two friend's happiness.
All the four friends sat in the front row waiting eagerly for that one person to come.
Ash, vasu and nandu sat in an elegant posture to compliment their outfits, whereas kavi sat cupping her cheeks like a kid who was going to watch his favorite cartoon show.
Ash was blushing profusely which Nandu noticed and she signaled rest of her friends to look at ash. They watched her smiling dreamily and there was a glint of proud in her eyes.
"Ash....What's the matter. huh?" vasu asked her mischievously.
"You know what?Harsh was really impressed by my performance.He even said that I would be perfect as his dance partner" Ash said flipping her hair back and winking at her friends.
Nandu and vasu widened their eyes like someone has splashed cold water on their faces.
Harsh didn't complimented them like that although his other team members did.
Kavi felt very excited as she know that if Ash will be his dancing partner then she might get a chance to meet him.
Kavi was not a part of any of the performances on the annual day, so she won't be there during rehearsal days.
But she thought if any of her friends becomes Harsh's dance partner, then she will visit someday only to see him and maybe if possible talk to him.
"So that means...?"Nandu asked stuttering madly.
"Yeah...That means I'm on the verge of making him mine. I told you already he's gonna fall for me. He is going to select me, I guess" Ash said adjusting her dress and doing some touch up to her face.
"Congrats Ashhh....just love you" Kavi hugged her cheerfully.
Vasu and nandu felt very disappointed and jealous. But they were happy at the same time for their friend.
