I yawned as I stood at my kitchen sink hand washing my whites. I was actually pretty civilized when it came to household type things. I wasn't a typical stereotype. I knew if I wanted these towels clean I needed to pre-wash them. Blood stains are a b***h to get out of towels.
' Morning.' Jessie said sweetly, padding into the kitchen wearing one of Derek's shirts and a blissfully happy expression. I looked over with a frown.
'Stop being so bloody happy, it's annoying.' I said through a yawn,
'Wow what's got your panties in a bunch? Jess said, flicking on the kettle and jumping effortlessly up to sit on the counter.
'If you aren't wearing underwear get your ass off my counter.'
'You want me to be wearing panties?' Jessie said dubiously.
'Stop flirting. I'm s****l frustrated enough after you two have already forced me to listen to you humping since 4am.'
'Sorry.'
'No your not' Jessie shrugged,
'Not really.' She admitted, I pulled the plug out and let the water drain, picking up the still bloody towels wringing them out the water emerging was pale pink. 'Look Dean, I need you to go into town today and check up on Norma.' I groaned as I pulled the towels out of the sink and shoved them in the washing machine.
'Can't you send Carl?'
'Dean he's got a broken leg.'
' Well, he shouldn't have let a rogue break his leg in the first place. It's a teaching opportunity. Anyway, he's got another one.'
'Your going.'
'She bloody hates me.' I moaned as I poured out the detergent.
'Dean, you're a f*****g werewolf and she's like 80 years old. Just grow a pair. What the f**k is she going to do?'
'Probably rip them off.' I said, starting the washing machine and turning around to turn on the cooker. 'You know she's a witch.' Jessie scoffed,
'So am I remember.'
'I just don't see why I should go.' I said, pushing aside the contents of the cupboard, seeking out the sugar, 'send Ashton, she probably likes Ashton.'
'Ashton is working. You're going, you need to pick up the rent and just check she's OK. She's our responsibility you know that.'
'Yeah, even though she doesn't want to be, why force her?' I said, pouring flour into a bowl, watching intently, I never weighed anything. It wasn't necessary. 'She is more than capable of taking care of herself.'
'It doesn't matter she is an elderly lady, we need to check on her.' I just glowered as I pulled the chocolate out,
'Ahh this is s**t chocolate. I'll do what I can but s**t chocolate is pretty difficult to overcome,'
'Just check on her Dean,' she said, hoping off the counter. ' And don't worry, if she rips your balls off I'm sure they will grow back.'
'You know you should at least try not to piss off your chef '. I said, waving my wooden spoon, she smiled,
'You will make someone a lovely little wife one day. What are you making anyway?' she asked, peering into the bowl.
'Well, I figured it was time for the brownies.'
'Brownies,' she said brightly.
'Well yeah, I mean I know cravings vary, but it worked last time. You don't need to try hiding it . It's not exactly discrete anymore, I'm sure the guys are starting to.... what???' i said as Jessie stared at me wide-eyed, ' well you must have known we would figure it out. I mean It's pretty easy to smell on your scent..I..um.... Jess are you OK?'
'What are you saying? She asked, looking as if she had been told that I had started shitting diamonds. I frowned, pretty sure I was missing something,
' Jess...' I said, slowly realization dawning on me. 'Did you not realize?' she placed a hand on her flat stomach and stood stock still for three seconds before she turned and sprinted flat out across the living room and up the stairs. i snorted and went back to my brownies with a shrug. Eight minutes later, I heard squeals and thuds from over head. I just smiled and slid my brownies into the oven. i guess Jess had a positive result. To be honest, I was surprised it had taken this long. The two of them were still humping like bunnies despite being married for six years. It seemed like a real endurance to me, as I honestly could barely remember a relationship that had lasted more than six days without me getting bored.
Jess and Derek hadn't appeared from his room by the time that i had dressed and prepped very reluctantly to leave. I placed the brownies delicately on the cooling rack and grabbed my keys and wallet, shoving them in my pocket, I headed out.
