I ran through the labyrinth of earth, not having any clue where I was going and getting more and more lost as I travelled through it.
But that didn’t matter.
The only thought going round my head was the need to find Tamsin. I didn’t believe them saying she wasn’t here. From everything she’d said to me, she didn’t have anywhere to go but here or Dragon Soul. And as angry as she was with me, I didn’t see her not returning to the bar.
I ground to a halt as a soft sob sounded from down the corridor. What was going on there?
Without thinking about it, I crept towards the sound, sure it was another person. I didn’t know what I’d do when I got there, or what I expected to find, but something compelled me onwards.
