Chapter 11: Call the Parents

1426 Words
Qin Feng had always adopted an attitude of turning a blind eye toward Zhuang Yan. Since this woman had no relationship with him anymore, he let her follow him if she wanted. If he refused her now, it might just cause more trouble, as this crazy woman might become even more entangled. As for becoming a "lapdog" again, Qin Feng vowed never to do that in his lifetime. "That was really close just now. Luckily, someone important stepped in; otherwise, things could have escalated." "I guess the class leader won't let you off easily. You should be careful not to have him make things difficult for you." Su Xiaoxiao also patted her chest, showing her concern. She was worried that Qin Feng might act out and get into trouble, which would lead to him getting punished. Her main concern was that Qin Feng was not injured, and she hoped he wouldn’t get a demerit for the fight. “It’s fine. Even if the class leader complains, it won’t affect me much.” Qin Feng was nonchalant about it. He had long since understood the character of the class leader, who was chosen personally by the homeroom teacher and had used his authority in the class quite a bit. It wasn’t surprising that he would act this way. As for Zhuang Yan, she clung to them stubbornly, no matter how fast they walked, she couldn’t be shaken off. Since Qin Feng didn’t push her away, it was as if he implicitly allowed her to follow him. Qin Feng didn’t think much of it, but Zhuang Yan’s mind was already running wild. She stared at Qin Feng, as if trying to understand his inner feelings. “I understand now. The reason he’s been ignoring me is because he’s shy, right? After all, I’ve been so indifferent to him before.” “Given that I once helped him, any man would be shy.” “If that’s the case, it makes sense.” “Probably after I keep pursuing him, he’ll confess to me.” With this thought, Zhuang Yan felt a bit smug. She was the class beauty, and any man would want her, right? Her plan was working! Qin Feng had never looked at Zhuang Yan, and he had no idea how she imagined him at this moment. “When we get to the office, I’ll probably have to explain the fight that just happened.” Almost every student in the class had noticed the commotion, so it was likely that someone had reported the incident to the teacher. Qin Feng had to address this problem first. “Don’t worry, I’ll speak up for you.” “This matter was actually the class leader’s fault. We can’t let you be wronged.” Su Xiaoxiao clenched her small fists, eager to help. As they reached the office, Qin Feng led the way with the two of them. “Qin Feng, you finally arrived. I was about to send someone to call you.” The homeroom teacher looked irritated, and her expression wasn’t pleasant. “You don’t need to sit down. Just stand by the wall.” Hearing the teacher’s tone, Qin Feng felt helpless. “Tell me, is the fight with the class leader your fault?” As Qin Feng had guessed, someone had already tipped off the teacher about the fight. “Actually, this wasn’t my fault. The class leader provoked me first.” Qin Feng sighed, feeling helpless. Unfortunately, the students present had only seen him fighting the class leader, even though he hadn’t struck a blow. “I know your character. The class leader is so easygoing; how could he have provoked you?” The teacher showed no intention of listening to Qin Feng’s explanation. “Teacher, I can vouch for Qin Feng. It was indeed the class leader who provoked him.” Su Xiaoxiao, unable to watch any longer, spoke up to defend Qin Feng. However, to the teacher, Su Xiaoxiao’s defense seemed like a mere excuse from a partner in crime. “When did I ask you to speak? I’m resolving this issue with Qin Feng, and you’re not involved.” The teacher’s words made Su Xiaoxiao shiver, and she dared not say another word. The teacher pushed up her glasses, maintaining a stern attitude. “Let’s focus on your issues. Why are you here?” “Are you here to apologize?” Seeing the teacher’s serious attitude, Qin Feng felt even more helpless. At such times, any explanation seemed futile. “No, actually, I’m requesting a day off. I need to go to the neighboring town.” Qin Feng did not hide anything. Asking for leave was a common matter, and the teacher had no reason to refuse it. Hearing this, the teacher’s expression turned grim. “Stop with your excuses. Do you think I don’t know your little tricks?” “You’re just trying to use this leave to skip school! Don’t lie about having things to do outside; stop the nonsense!” “Don’t think I don’t know your character.” These words instantly tarnished Qin Feng’s reputation. Even Su Xiaoxiao felt that the teacher was being too overbearing. The teacher’s attitude was unreasonable. “It’s not like that. I really need to handle something in the town.” “As for the fight, it was indeed the class leader who provoked me. I didn’t directly engage; I only made a gesture.” “If you don’t believe me, you can ask our classmates. I didn’t take action, just posed.” “If the class leader hadn’t blocked me and refused to give me the leave slip, there wouldn’t have been a conflict.” Qin Feng struggled to control his frustration and continued to explain patiently. After all, the fight was not his fault. Was he supposed to take the blame for everything the class leader did? The teacher could have easily found out the truth by talking to classmates or checking the surveillance footage, but she didn’t bother. Ignoring Qin Feng’s explanation, the teacher snorted. “Stop pretending. I know your character very well. The fight was definitely your fault!” “You’re always involved in school troubles.” “Perhaps the class leader questioned your reason for leaving, and you got angry and decided to fight.” “The class leader had good intentions, and you repaid him with this behavior, and now you’re claiming you’re not at fault.” “You keep making excuses. I see you’re not a good person!” The teacher, firm in her beliefs, refused to listen to Qin Feng’s explanations. Her views on Qin Feng’s previous academic performance and behavior led her to dismiss any need for further investigation. “And it’s not just about the fight. You’re also involved in early relationships. Don’t think I don’t know!” “I’ve heard from several students that you’re close with two girls. Do you know what kind of behavior that is?” “If both the fighting and early relationships come to light, you should be prepared to repeat the year!” “I’m fully aware of your bad habits. For students like you, I’ll have to call your parents to control you!” Saying this, the teacher took out her phone number, which she had kept reserved for such occasions. “Have your parents come to school tomorrow. I need to talk to them about your issues personally! We absolutely cannot continue to tolerate these bad habits.” The teacher stood up, her tone growing sharper with each word. “Your recent behavior, your grades, the fighting, and early relationships—none of these issues will be overlooked!” “You’re the only one in the class causing me so much trouble. Had I known you would be like this, I would never have admitted you to this class.” The teacher’s harsh words made it clear to everyone that she was not inclined to give Qin Feng any leniency. “Teacher, how can you speak to him like this?” Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t hold back any longer. She had been by Qin Feng’s side and witnessed the class leader’s actions. It was clear to her that Qin Feng was being unfairly blamed. Even if another student were in his place, they wouldn’t be happy with such unjust treatment. As for Zhuang Yan, at this point, she dared not speak up and could only stand silently to the side. Hearing that his parents were to be called, Qin Feng felt somewhat troubled.
