Chapter 4: The Stocks

“Director, I hope you'll use your brain before speaking next time!” “Also, I want you to thoroughly investigate the outsiders still lying in the warehouse. Find out who they are and their identities!” “Xiao Fu, let’s go!” Seeing that the director remained silent, Qin Feng knew his business was about settled. He turned and left with Qian Fu. Before leaving, he violently flung his knife! Clang! The coffee table was instantly shattered by the knife's impact. The table was made of apatite, a material with a hardness similar to human bone! This final action thoroughly dispelled any thoughts the director might have had about holding him accountable. The director feared becoming as shattered as that table. After years of teaching, he had his own set of principles. He wasn’t afraid of students who were merely aimless or full of grand theories. What he truly feared were those who were both aimless and articulate! Encountering such a student was exceptionally troublesome, and after years of teaching, it was rare to come across one. Clearly, Qin Feng was one of these exceptional cases! On top of that, he happened to cross paths with him. How unlucky could he be? He, a director, had been restrained by a student. If word got out, his reputation would be thoroughly damaged. “Damn, brother, you’re really impressive! I wouldn’t dare talk to the director like that.” On the way back to the classroom, Qian Fu expressed his admiration once again. Even he, the second son of a local major taxpayer, was usually very respectful towards the director, never daring to be impudent, let alone speak loudly… Who would have thought Qin Feng would dare to shout at him, and not only that, but leave the director’s office unscathed! “If you don’t speak up, no one will listen. If you only speak, they might not listen either.” Qin Feng said a lot, leaving Qian Fu puzzled. “Brother, why are you speaking in such a roundabout way? What do you mean?” Seeing Qian Fu's confusion, Qin Feng just smiled. With Qian Fu’s level of intelligence, it would take him years to understand this principle! “Want to know? Pay the tuition fee, and I’ll teach you.” Qin Feng extended his hand. Upon hearing this, Qian Fu immediately took out all the money he had on him. “This is good! This is good! I like paying for things! As long as money can solve the problem, I’m all for it.” After all, the Qian family lacked nothing but money. Hearing this good news, Qian Fu was excited. Qin Feng glanced at the money and shook his head. “This amount isn’t enough.” “Huh? Brother, this is all my weekly allowance. How much more do you need? I’ll get it for you!” Qian Fu said with determination. Seeing this, Qin Feng revealed a scheming smile and slowly extended two fingers. “Not much, just a hundred thousand.” “What did you say?! A hundred thousand!” In the opulent hall, Qian Youwei, upon hearing the figure from the young man in front of him, couldn’t help but exclaim in shock. His eyes widened in disbelief. In an era where the average national salary didn’t exceed a thousand, a hundred thousand was undoubtedly astronomical! And the one asking for this money was an eighteen-year-old high school student! Qian Youwei held his head in anger, glaring at Qin Feng. If it weren’t for this kid helping his son today, he would have kicked him out upon hearing that figure. However, with the current situation, the eviction order was about to be issued. “Dad, don’t be angry. I believe that since brother is asking for so much money, he must have his reasons. Maybe…” “Reasons? What reasons? Do you know what a hundred thousand means? It’s money that an ordinary family would have to work years without eating or drinking to save!” Just as Qian Fu was about to defend Qin Feng, he was harshly rebuked by his father, who was even more infuriated when Qian Fu muttered another line. “And, I have more than a hundred thousand in my New Year’s money…” Unable to do anything about it with outsiders present, Qian Youwei had to swallow his anger and clear his throat. “Cough, cough, cough…” “Indeed, as Xiao Fu said, a hundred thousand is a huge amount, but relatively speaking…” As Qian Youwei was about to continue, Qin Feng slowly spoke up, “I guess that as a successful entrepreneur like you, you spend over a million on eating, drinking, and entertainment every year, right?” Seeing Qian Youwei’s angry stare, Qin Feng remained unflinching, meeting his gaze calmly. “Hmph! That’s money I earned through hard work. Whether it’s a hundred thousand or even millions, it’s none of your business!” Qian Youwei said, trying to intimidate Qin Feng with his eyes, but Qin Feng remained unmoved, even looking more relaxed. “Yes, by all accounts, as an outsider, even though I just saved your son’s life, I shouldn’t be demanding such a large sum.” Picking up a newspaper on the coffee table, Qin Feng noticed the headline “Taihong Pharmaceutical Stock” and smiled. “Just a bunch of small-time thugs, and they dare to do anything to my son?” Qian Youwei squinted his eyes, thinking he had seen through Qin Feng, considering him another opportunist trying to extort money through his son. “Haha, whatever happens to Xiao Fu and those thugs, I won’t say. You can personally ask the department head, if you have time.” “I may be insignificant, but I’m sure you trust the department head’s words.” As Qin Feng spoke, he picked up a pen and circled the headline “Taihong Pharmaceutical Stock.” The stock that had caused a market disaster in his previous life was still vivid in his memory. Due to blind speculation and media hype, it had become a sensation. However, the price had plummeted dramatically just a week later, almost reaching a limit-down. The reason was simple: the nationally popular Qi Gong had been scientifically disproven, and the stock related to it also showed its true colors. He remembered that during that period, rooftops on every floor were almost always crowded with people… “You’re somewhat self-aware. Since that’s the case, you can leave now. If things are indeed that serious, I will arrange a gift for you to show my gratitude!” Qian Youwei’s expression slightly softened, but only slightly. Qin Feng approached him and handed over the newspaper. “In fact, I’m not taking that hundred thousand for nothing. To be precise, it’s earned from you.” “Earned?” Qian Youwei raised an eyebrow, his anger gradually replaced by curiosity. Qian Fu was equally surprised, his eyes wide in disbelief. Could this guy actually intend to make money from his shrewd old man? And make it a hundred thousand at once? Truly impressive! “Exactly, earned!” Qin Feng looked at Qian Youwei with determined eyes and a firm voice. “If I’m not mistaken, you’ve invested at least a million in this stock, right?” Qian Youwei nodded slightly. More than a million. Three million to be exact! Not a penny less! The entire half-year’s funds of the company were invested, hoping for a high return! If it weren’t for having a friend in the stock department, that three million might not have been spent! After all, the stock was so hot that even a fool knew buying it was a sure win! But what Qin Feng said next nearly made Qian Youwei flip the table. “My advice is that you’d better sell it all before it opens.” “You’re crazy?!” The phone rang, temporarily easing the tense atmosphere. Qian Youwei answered to find it was the department head calling personally! “Hmm? What did you say? Those people aren’t ordinary thugs?” “They’re fugitives?! Is that so? Okay, I understand. Alright, this matter is very serious. Thank you for your concern.” “Rest assured, I’ll definitely find out who’s behind them!” Hanging up, Qian Youwei looked at Qin Feng with no more anger in his eyes. Seeing this, Qin Feng knew that what he had said to the department head had made an impact. It was time for the final step. “Qin Feng, the director has just told me. You’ve done well this time, and I won’t let you down.” “Since we can’t sell everything, can we at least take out a part?” Both spoke almost simultaneously. Qian Youwei looked surprised, not expecting Qin Feng to instantly recognize his phone conversation’s subject. Qin Feng then delivered his final line, built up over time. “I only need you to take out stocks worth a hundred thousand at the current market value. Is that request unreasonable?” “Alright.” Qian Youwei pondered briefly and then agreed directly. He had bought them four days ago, and the market price had increased tenfold. A hundred thousand was equivalent to what was initially ten thousand. Though it was painful, clearing a debt related to his only son, in any case, was not a loss! “Brother, do you really want me to arrange for someone to sell them now? My dad said there’s still potential for the stock to appreciate. Maybe we should wait a few more days?” After receiving the stocks, Qin Feng immediately asked Qian Fu to arrange for the company to sell them, surprising the latter who tried to persuade him otherwise. Qin Feng left behind a single sentence, leading Qian Fu to realize after the market opened. “A hundred thousand will be its peak.” Though Qian Fu didn’t fully understand,
