Jessie nodded. He wiped his tears before walking closer and holding Dawn’s hand. “You scared me for a moment.” Jessie said softly. “I’m sorry.” Dawn said hoarsely. “Shh, don’t speak. I will be with you until you’re better. Just text or write it.” Jessie said. Dawn nodded. “I will be sneaking in your room to help look after you as well.” Jessie said. Dawn nodded she squeezed his hand. [Dawn is on a liquid diet. She just died and had to be revived. She had a piece of plastic from the belt in her throat. She can’t talk and is on a liquid diet. The paramedic from the first night said she will give her home check-ups every day until she’s out of the danger zone. We saw her just lean back and die. It was scary dad.] – Patrick texted. Within seconds Mark rang Patrick. Patrick walked further away to answer. “Is she going to be okay?” Mark asked. “Dad, she was dead for what felt like forever. They had trouble reviving her. She vomited and had blood in her throat.” Patrick cried. “Is she okay now?” Mark asked. “We won’t know until they return. Listen, this was scary. Can Jessie stay in her room with the door open to help look after her. He will help when she needs to gargle until the blood’s gone again. He can help her with her medicine and cleaning her vomit bucket. He doesn’t want to leave her while she’s in pain.” Patrick cried. “If the door stays open, I will allow it. I won’t risk her alone with a man if she is in fact my daughter.” Mark said. “Dad, enough for now. We are dealing with a serious issue. Can you please just drop that topic until everyone is better.” Patrick cried. “Alright, for her sake I will.” Mark said. “Dad, promise me you won’t bring it up again. Not until she does.” Patrick cried. “You’re pushing it now, Patrick.” Mark said. “Fine. We are waiting for them to discharge Dawn. There was a lot of reporters trying to interview her when we arrived. They followed us trying to ask her questions.” Patrick said. “Do you need help getting her out?” Mark asked. “Jessie will carry her again. He kept her close and covered before.” Patrick said. “Call if you need help. I will inform Tate.” Mark said. Patrick hung up and walked in. “Dad said you can stay in her room with the door open only.” Patrick said. Jessie nodded as he held Dawn’s hand. He didn’t stop looking at Dawn’s eyes. Dawn kept her eye contact on him as well. “Dawn, you look a little dizzy.” Patrick said. Dawn moved her eyes slowly to Patrick then shook her head. Jessie pulled his phone out and started typing. He showed Patrick without Dawn seeing. [I think she is disoriented or a bit slower due to the ordeal. Eye contact is helping her breathe normally.”] – Jessie wrote. Patrick was about to respond but Wendy returned. “Dawn, we are going to discharge you now.” Wendy said. Wendy had the forms in her hand but realised how slow Dawn was to look at her. Jessie showed the phone to Wendy. Wendy read the message. She looked closely at Dawn. “Dawn, can you look at the light?” Wendy asked. Wendy turned a small torch on and aimed it in Dawn’s eyes. It was slow but her eyes did follow the light. “Dawn, you need to make sure you rest as much as possible. I will bring you back if your eye movements are still slow in a couple days.” Wendy said. Dawn nodded. Wendy signed the discharge papers and handed them to Patrick with the script. Jessie grabbed Dawn carefully. Dawn snuggled into his chest as he held her. “Be careful. I will be by later to check on her eyes. Between 7 to 8pm.” Wendy said. “Yes miss.” Patrick said. They walked through the doors to see a lot of reporters still sitting there. They shoot up trying to get video of Dawn, but Jessie held her face to his neck as he carried her, supporting her body with one arm. Jessie made it to the car and carefully put her in. He closed the jacket over her and did her seatbelt. He got in and started the car. Patrick was visibly nervous. He got in and they went to the chemist before heading to the Bridge’s estate. Jessie pulled up close to the door and got out to grab Dawn. Jessie carried her carefully. He was very careful as he carried her chest to chest. Dawn snuggled into him as they walked through the front door. Patrick held the door open for them. Tate was there hoping to talk but Mark advised him that she can’t talk for a while. “Patrick, I might need you to help me change her. I won’t do it alone so that people know I’m not hurting her.” Jessie said. “Can’t Dawn change herself?” Mark asked. “She’s sort of lethargic and slow. The paramedic is coming to check on her again tonight. Her visual movement is slow and took her a while to look at us. Since she died, she has been really slow.” Patrick said. They looked shocked. “Her wrists look bad.” Tate said. “We will put her in a singlet and shorter pants for the paramedic to check the leg wounds tonight, then we can let you in to look once she is dressed.” Jessie said. Jessie carried her up the stairs. She held him close and tight. Both his arms supporting her bottom and her back. Jessie walked into her room with Patrick. “Get me a singlet first.” Jessie said. Patrick went looking for a singlet. Jessie took his jacket off Dawn and covered her chest with it. Dawn slowly held it. Patrick brought a baggy singlet of Jessie’s over. Jessie unclipped her bra and carefully lowered the straps while her breasts were covered by the jacket. Jessie put the head part on Dawn and pulled it down before removing the jacket and the bra. He grabbed her arms and slowly pulled her arms in carefully because of her wrists.
