EP:6(THE FINAL)**FOR LOVE AND WAR**

823 Words
The house was suffused with silence that felt sharp, heavy. Every creak of the floorboards sounded louder now, every breath a reminder of what was about to break. I woke to it — the whisper of her voice. Soft, intoxicating, and dangerous. “Y/N…” My heart froze. The air felt thick. The warmth of the night replaced with something colder, something that crawled under my skin. I slipped from the bed, careful not to wake Kade, and followed the sound. It led me to the hallway. A faint glow came from the living room. There she was — Lara. Standing there as if she owned this house. My house. Her eyes locked onto mine, a knowing smirk playing on her lips. “You didn’t expect me back so soon,” she whispered. I stepped forward, fury and fear intertwining. “Why are you here? What do you want?” She tilted her head. “What I always wanted — everything. And I won’t stop until I have it.” From behind her, footsteps echoed. Kade appeared, tense, his expression unreadable. “Lara…” His voice was low, dangerous. “This ends tonight.” She laughed softly, the sound dripping with malice. “Ends? No, Kade… this is only the beginning.” --- Kade moved forward. His voice shook slightly, though his eyes burned. “You promised me… you promised you wouldn’t come back.” “I made no such promise,” she said. “And you… you broke yours the moment you tried to hide me from her.” My blood boiled. Every word felt like fire striking my skin. “How dare you come here?!” I screamed. “You’ve destroyed everything!” She smiled coldly, stepping closer. “No, darling… I’ve only revealed what was already there. Doubt. Secrets. Fear.” Selene appeared behind me, her eyes wide with panic. “Y/N… Kade…” she whispered. I turned to her, confused and hurt. But Selene shook her head, her voice trembling. “You don’t understand… she’s dangerous.” Kade’s hand clenched into a fist. “Leave. Both of you. Now.” Lara tilted her head, smiling wickedly. “But Kade… I can’t. Not until I get what I came for.” Her words hit me like a punch. This wasn’t about love. This was war. --- The tension snapped. Kade stepped forward, grabbing Lara’s arm. “I said leave!” She yanked back, her smirk fading into something sharper, darker. “No one tells me what to do.” She lunged toward Kade, but I didn’t stand aside. I stepped in between them, my chest heaving. “This ends tonight, Lara. Leave, or I swear…” my voice cracked, but my will hardened. Lara’s smirk widened. “You swear? That’s adorable.” And then she moved — faster than I expected. Kade lunged at her, Selene screamed, and the world exploded into chaos. The fight was messy, raw. Shouts, crashing furniture, the sound of tearing fabric. Somewhere in the middle of it, I saw our daughter stir in her crib, crying. That sound — my baby’s cry — tore something open in me. I shouted, breaking free from the struggle. “Stop!” Everything froze. The air became heavy again. Kade and Lara stared at me, breath ragged, sweat glistening on their skin. Selene stood trembling beside me. Lara’s eyes glimmered with fury and triumph. “You can’t stop me, Y/N,” she said softly. “This isn’t just my game. It’s yours now too.” --- The moments after were quiet but charged. Kade held me tightly, his forehead resting against mine. “I swear,” he said, voice low, “I will end this. No matter what it takes.” I looked at him, searching for truth in his eyes. “I want to believe you,” I whispered. “But trust… is gone.” Selene stepped forward, placing a hand on my shoulder. “We fight together,” she said softly. “We protect what’s ours.” And in that moment, I understood — no matter what happened, we were bound. By love, by blood, by betrayal. And by war. --- Suddenly, Lara’s smirk faltered. Her form shimmered, as if dissolving into mist. A sharp wind swept through the room, carrying her voice — soft, fading — “This isn’t over…” And then she was gone. The air cleared. The tension lifted like a storm breaking. Kade pulled me into his arms, his touch steady, unwavering. “I told you,” he murmured against my hair, “I’ll protect you. Always.” I looked up at him, my heart swelling. “Yes,” I whispered. “Always.” And for the first time in a long time, the house was silent. Not with fear, but with peace. We stood together, stronger than ever, with nothing but love and the life we chose to protect... THE END~
