I stared at the letter in my hand, the words blurring together as my mind reeled in shock. Xenarya's words cut deep, like a knife to the heart. She was leaving me, choosing to go back to Gunner, the man who had hurt her so badly in the past. I couldn't understand why she would want to return to him, why she would want to put herself through that pain again.
