I felt relief wash over me when I heard the knock on the door. At last, it seems I will be able to escape whatever Calhoun's plan was.
“Who is there?” he asked, his voice reverberating through the walls of the room.
“Alpha it's me.” I heard a male voice reply outside. It was filled with panic. And though I could hear his frantic heartbeat, amidst his own, I heard another heartbeat. There are definitely three people outside.
“Come in,” Calhoun said and quickly pulled up his pants.
I looked at him with eyes glaring fiercely but he held back.
The man who raced with Vladimir walked inside the room with a sense of urgency. His footsteps were rapid as he closed the distance between us.
“What?” Calhoun asked with unease while I waited for the person outside to come in.
