CHAPTER 6

VLADIMIR POV

“I think you should let her know so that she won't keep beating herself over it. She will learn to forgive you.” Finn said, as he got down from the tree.

Rosalith had already disappeared into the woods but I listened to her heartbeat trying to make sure she was safe.

“She doesn't need to know the truth now. She will only hate herself more.” I said and pulled out my cellphone. I texted Rosalith Father that I am with her.

“And what are you doing here Finn? Did you take care of what I asked you?” I asked Finn and he c****d his head to one side.

“I did everything but you might have to add more to my payment. It wasn't easy to get his signature.” Finn said and I tossed a bill at him.

He grabbed it and a smirk graced his lips.

“I don't want to see you for a while. And don't lurk around me until I call you back. I am afraid she will sense you.” I told Finn and he saluted me before disappearing from the woods.

I make my way towards where Rosalith is.

I’m a thorn in her flesh.

My heart squeezed when I saw the way she broke down in tears looking at the tree. I try to make myself invisible so that she won't notice my presence but I know Rosalith has a very high sense of smell and this is one of the things I admired in Rosalith.

She is strong and confident and I know that I don't deserve her which is why I had to let her go. I thought I was doing Rosalith a favour but things changed three months ago. I was going to give a report to the king in his study room because he received a call when I suddenly saw the message.

Rosalith's name was saved with just her initials but my probing hand clicked on the message and that was how I realised she had been constantly abused.

I don't even want to imagine how scared she is but she is actually adjusting well.

I know I am an asshole for treating her that way and if only I could turn back time, things would have been different. I will embrace her ignoring the fact that I am just a ticking time bomb which could go off anytime.

She cried out with her palms covering her mouth. If I could kill Kayden, then I would gladly do it over and over again. He will spend the rest of his life wishing he were dead.

However, I need to talk to her about what her father just talked to her about. I wasn't planning to eavesdrop but not when Rosalith's name was mentioned. I knew I was going to break my f*****g rules if it's anything involving her.

And what did he say? Rosalith is going to marry Jared, a man who is just the same age as Rosalith's father. I knew she was going to be my weakness but I didn't know she was going to affect me this way.

Rosalith got under my skin and no matter how many times I bathed, I couldn't seem to wash her scent off me.

“I know you are here Vladimir. Just come out.” She said and a smile graced my lips.

I stepped out behind the tree I was hiding behind and walked towards the space between us. She cleaned her teats perfectly but my eyes didn't miss the way she looked thinner even though she has become even prettier, her chocolate brown eyes gazing at me.

She only needed to eat more food and sleep well then she would regain her strength but her father is not even going to give her that.

“I thought I told you to stay there. Do I really need to repeat myself again?” Rosalith asked and I could hear the anger etched in her tone.

“I came to correct what you said earlier,” I said as I stood in front of her.

“And what is that?” She was not even a little bit surprised about the fact that I am here.

“I am not going to mock you Rosalith. I just want us to have a talk. I admitted that I heard a bit of the conversation but it wasn't all.” I lied even though part of it is actually true.

“So share the part you heard then.” She said and I licked my dry lips. Her eyes followed the movement before she eventually looked away.

“He told me you are going to marry Alpha Jared,” I said and something flashed in her eyes before they eventually returned to normal.

“And you want to know if I am going to marry him right? So what if I told you I am going to listen to Father and do what he wants? What are you going to do?” Rosalith asked and I know she didn't mean even a bit of the words she said

When she is lying, I know the corners of her eyes will definitely twitch.

“You can't be serious about that Rosalith. He is trying to let you go for his own benefits” I said and she scoffed.

“And you think I didn't know that!” She half yelled and paced around before stopping.

“Why are you suddenly acting caring? You should join others who keep saying I am a slut.” She said and I inhaled the metallic taste of blood. She bites herself.

“I messed up in the past Rosalith.” I took a step towards and she took two steps back.

“And you are trying to make up for that?” She asked, her eyes blazing red with anger.

“Don't do it because it will only make you look pathetic.” She added and I decided to cut in before she could say more words.

“Rosalith. I ..” My phone rings in my pocket interrupting the conversation.

“You should pick it” she said and I tried to part my lips but it rang again. I picked it up this time and pressed the phone to my ear

“Hello,” I said to the one and one of the guard's voices boomed through the speaker

“Okay, I will be there now,” I said and ended the call.

“The king wants you to be back in the pack before 6pm,” I said and continued.

“Alpha Jared is coming to pay the king a visit and a party will be thrown to honour him.”

“s**t!” I heard her cursing before she eventually looked at me.

“Let's go then.” She said and I stepped out of the way for her.

I don't know how she is going to do it but it will be hard to convince the king. Once he sets his heart on something, he will make sure he sees it through. But then, I knew my wolf, Orion, was just as concerned as I was.

**I WANT HER** Orion said loudly in my head as we made our way back to where my bike was parked.

But what baffles me is that, this is the very first time he will ever show interest in a woman and he picked Rosalith among them all.

**Did you even know what you are talking about? She doesn't belong to us** I informed Orion in my head.
