Finding Path to the City of Peace

Prison break

Night has come.

Ken is sitting behind iron bars while holding them. He is thinking about his fate and his family that has been separated when the zombie apocalypse begin.

"Are they still alive? Martha, Ronney, Joshua, I hope you all are fine. This outbreak has been separated us for six months. I have been prisoned for three months. I miss you all," he muttered.

Suddenly a sound of footsteps heard. The hallway front of the prison is dark caused by malfunctioned lamps.

Apparently the footsteps sound came from Victor who was approaching to Ken's prison.

"Ken, you have to get out now. I have the key to free you from this prison," Victor said when arriving front of Ken.

"What did you say? Are you crazy? I can't leave this place easily. Moreover, what's caused you want to release me?" Ken looked at Victor curious.

"I have heard their talks. They will test you as survivor subject. They will cage you inside a room fulled by zombies or the infected one. I can't let them act too far. My chance is just once. I will regret badly if I choose to let them execute you with the horrible way," Victor explained. "Come on. I will unlock this prison. Remember, apreciate what I do.

Without waiting for Ken's response, Victor opened the prison lock. Then he leads Ken to leave the place quietly.

But what Victor did has attracted attention of close circuit television (CCTV) operator who directly turned on the alarm.

"Warning! Subject number 55 is being escorted by a traitor. The prison guard has released the subject. Guards! Catch them!"

"Holy s**t! We have been spotted! Ken, we must hurry or my effort to free you will be useless!" Victor said while pushing Ken to the dark spot. "We have to find safest place to hide. I know the motor boat that we will use it to escape to mainland," he added.

Alarm roared followed by armed guards who were running around to the prison's location.

"There are no one here. Victor has freed the subject. We must catch the traitor and slay him!" a guard said then running to an alley after a hallway.

The guard ran down to a dark spot while turning on his weapon's flashlight. But suddenly someone sliced his throat until bleedy. Several seconds later, the guard is dead.

"Come on, Ken. There are still many of them. We can't kill them all. We will kill them encountering us." Victor runs while pulling Ken's hand. "Don't worry. I'm not a gay. I'm still health in my orientation," he added.

Victor took an assault rifle that be brought by the dead guard.

"Tombo 745. This assault rifle isn't good but still suitable to punch some holes on their head," he said while checking the rifle's magazine.

"I think we haven't to take fire because it will make them easier to find us. I will assist you to attack them stealth," Ken said offering an idea.

"Your idea is great. Alright, we will attack them stealth. But we will not do that when they don't encounter us. Moreover we still have to move inside dark spot," Victor said.

"Then we need to sabotage the power," Ken replied.

Victor stunned on position. He seems like to feel amazed after hearing Ken's idea.

"Alright. Hit it!"

Ken and Victor sneaked in a dark spot when seeing several guards are running over the area.

"Hold on! They disappeared right here. I think they are hiding at this dark spot. Come on. We will find them quick," a guard who is a woman said then entering the dark spot.

Meanwhile Ken and Victor were looking each other.

"Killing woman isn't my style. Maybe you will?" Victor whispered. "By the way she was my idol of my heart. My heart was broken cause of her."

"I will do that. Prepare to see her death." Ken whispered back then preparing to greet the woman guard.

"What? Oh, crap. I said wrong." Victor shooked his head.

When the woman guard and his men arrived at the area, Ken attacked them sneaky. One by one of them falling to the ground on pass out condition.

"You didn't kill them?" Victor whispered.

"Killing living human isn't necessary. Except we can't avoid from condition that forces us to kill," Ken whispered back.

"Watch out!" Victor shouted when someone suddenly launches an attack to Ken.

Ken doesn't have time to avoid the attack. An iron shoe's kick succeeds to land on his belly.

"Aaah! f**k! I hit!" Ken screamed on pain.

"Surrender now, subject 55! And you, traitor, will be punnished cause of your deed!" the guard woman snapped before Ken and Victor.

"I don't think so. You'd better don't prevent us to escape. We are still the free man. We will fight for it!" Ken said while looking around when the other guards come.

"f**k! We end here, Ken! We can't escape. Crap! My effort is useless. I'm sorry for that," Victor said on trembling voice.

"No need to regret, friend. After seeing my power, I am sure we can pass this all through. Come on. Don't worry. I will take them down all," Ken said on optimistic tone.

After said that, Ken jumps to another dark spot then fighting every guards who are attacking him.

Meanwhile the guard woman is dealing with Victor while holding a long blade.

"Hello Victor. Are you ready to die?" the woman said while staring at Victor.

"No, I'm not ready before him succeeds to escape, Mikhaela!" Victor said while drawing his knive.

"But you will not see him escape. You will die instead." Mikhaela opened first attack to Victor.

Victor evaded the attack while entering an attack by knife to the woman. Mikhaela avoided the attack then entering a counter attack to her opponent.

Mikhaela's iron shoe succeeded to hit Victor's leg until the man falling down. Mikhaela won the fight. She dealt a punch at Victor's face.

"Now, you will die, traitor!" Mikhaela slashes her blade to Victor's neck.

"Not so fast, pretty. Look at your men. They all have passed out. The other guards are stuck out there," Ken said after kicked Mikhaela's blade away.

Mikhaela attacked Ken quick using her iron shoes. Ken avoided the attack then slapping the girl's back.

Mikhaela staggered forward then continuing to attack Ken. The man who recently escaped from prison evaded the attack then entering a strong attack using his hands.

One of these attacks succeeded to hit Mikhaela's back up to falling to the ground. The woman doesn't move anymore for this time.

"The beautiful but prickly." Ken approached to Victor. "Come on, we have to go."
