Chapter Fourteen

Two weeks later Quinten's POV I cannot believe that Crystal is coming home with me to meet my parents. They had decided to go out of the country for the holidays. I had heard from Marissa warning us that Zander was thinking about attacking us during Thanksgiving. I was worried that Marissa was going to get into trouble but, Marissa told me that she was leaving soon for the hideout in the Rocky Mountains that she would be running. Crystal was pacing back and forth. I had not told Crystal the worse part of this whole situation. I was going to have to tell Crystal while we were away so that she could take out her frustration while we were not around everyone else. Crystal had become so much stronger. All of Crystal's powers were of the highest level that they could be. I was feeling all of my powers becoming stronger by practicing with Crystal. Our connection was the strongest that it had ever been. We were even finishing each other’s sentences sometimes. My mother was hounding me to get a ring on Crystal's finger but, I wanted to be sure that Crystal was ready for that particular step. I knew that Crystal was devoted to me and our relationship. However, we had not talked about our future together. I was not concerned because we were happy as we were for now. Also, if Crystal's dreams were any indication of what she wanted then our marriage would come when the time was right. Crystal's POV I could not believe that Quinten and I had been together for almost a month. It seemed like only yesterday that we were just figuring out that we are soul mates. I had come so far since that day. I was worried about Stephanie and I knew that Quinten had not told me something. I was hoping that Quinten would reveal this information to me soon. I tried my utmost to not use my mind reading capabilities on Quinten because I felt that would be an invasion of his privacy besides, it needed to be his decision to tell me. I would, however, use the power if I had to but, I would wait and see. Quinten was watching me pace in my room when he asked, "Are you all right angel?" "No, I am not all right my prince. I know that you are hiding something from me and I am trying very hard not to use my abilities on you." Quinten grinned and said, "I am sorry for keeping things from you but, I was waiting to tell you when we were away from everyone. I was worried that you would get mad and take out your frustrations with your abilities. I am planning on telling you soon. I am glad that you will not use your abilities on me, my love. That makes me very happy." "I love you with all of my heart, my prince." "I love you too, my angel. There are some things that we should discuss." "Like what?" "Where do you want our relationship to go?" "Uh..." I said thinking quickly. "I do not understand what you mean my love." "I want to know if you want to stay the way we are or if you want more." "Oh..." I said with a glorious smile, "Of course I want us to be together forever my love. I know that there is one more step before we are truly bonded. What I want to know is if you are truly ready for that final step?" "I know that I am my angel. I am ready to be yours completely. But, I want to know what you feel that is why I asked in the first place." "I do not want there to be anything keeping us apart. If I were not ready to be with you for however long, we are on this earth then I would not have gone this far in our bonding. You, my dear Quinten, are the other half of me and I cannot have asked for someone better than you. You put me above all others even your friends. I know that you will never do anything to change what we have." Quinten's heart melted in that minute while Crystal was talking. Quinten’s heart was now truly Crystal’s and he knew that she was going to be his for the rest of their time on this earth. Quinten said taking me into his arms, "Then we, my darling need to pack. We have a plane to catch in less than three hours." "Nice change of subject. You go check on your friends while I pack. Am I packing for cold or warm weather?" "Coldish weather." Quinten says with a smile and mystery, "But, be sure to pack a swimsuit." I groan in frustration as he leaves while blowing me a kiss. Lucas's POV Regina and I had been spending a lot of time together. I told Regina about Quinten, Crystal, Brody, Michael, and Zander. Regina was so supportive of me and what was going on that Regina, even joined all of us for training. Quinten and Crystal were so happy for me that it almost made me sick. I was happy that everyone was supportive I just did not know what I wanted to do. Regina and I had had a few dates but, we had not gone any further than holding hands. I was becoming frustrated. Yesterday I asked Regina if she would like to come with us to visit Quinten's parents and she had said no. Something was going on with Regina that I did not know about and it was agitating me. When Quinten arrived at our apartment I said, "I get the feeling that Regina is hiding something from me but, I do not know what it is. What do you think I should do?" "Lucas, my friend, I am sure that with time Regina will tell you. I can see how much Regina cares for you. I think that you need to take this week with us and spend some time figuring out what you want out of your mate." "I just do not know what I want." "You know that if you need someone to talk to I am here and so is Crystal. Crystal may be the better person to talk to about this." "I did not even consider that. Thanks, Quinten." "Anytime. Have you checked on Brody and Michael lately?" "No, but, they have their door open and they seem to be trying to pack. Where are we going anyway?" "My parents do not want me to tell anyone I am sorry. Just pack some swim trunks and warm clothing. That is all I can tell you. Make sure the rest the guards that are over here by 12:00 pm and please be sure that they know what they need to pack as well." I nod as I run next door and tell the guards what to pack not that they had swim trunks with them but, they had been wearing normal clothing while they had been with us, and what time they will need to be ready to leave. Marissa's POV I was trying to stay as long as I could for Stephanie's sake but, I needed to leave. If Zander found out that Quinten knew of his plan then I could get in trouble. Though, there had been new people joining us here by the day. Most of the new people were not under Zander's control. I had met the other person that he had picked to run one of the hideouts. The man seemed to believe in the fact that the king and queen were evil and wanted to control everyone. I found Stephanie and said, "I will be leaving in the morning." "Will you keep in touch?" "Of course. We can Skype as much as you want. I am sure that Zander will be keeping in touch with me anyway." "I am sure that Zander will. Is everything all right?" "I just need to feed. I will see you in the morning alright." "Of course. Come see me if you need anything." Stephanie said going to find Zander. I went into my room, grabbed a bag of A-, drank it, and then went to lie down. I felt much better now that I had fed but, something was still not right. I gasped as I figured out what it was. I ran to find Stephanie and found her in the library and said, "I think Zander is putting something in the blood." I turned to Stephanie and asked, "What do you mean?" "Give me a second," Stephanie said softly as she went to find a book. "Look at this," Stephanie said opening the book and showing Marissa a plant. "What does it do?" "It enhances or makes some vampires react to mental powers. I cannot believe that he would do something like this." Stephanie whispered, "I need to be careful. It can even overpower the mating bond." "Put it away. Zander is coming." I whispered. Stephanie ran at her fastest speed, put the book away, and rejoined me. I said after I opened the magazine I was looking at before she arrived, "This dress is so cute." "Totally," Stephanie said looking at it closely. Zander walked in and asked, "What are the two of you up too?" "Just looking through some magazines. I was looking for you earlier." Stephanie said sweetly smiling up at Zander. "I heard. I had to go meet some people in town." Zander said with a smile, "Marissa do you mind giving me and Stephanie a minute?" "No, problem. I wanted to let you know that I was leaving in the morning for the hideout." Marissa said walking toward the door. Zander scrunched his eyebrows and said, "Why so soon?" "I need to get it ready and find out about the area Zander. I will not be able to recruit without knowing the area and where I can get good recruits." Marissa asked with a raised eyebrow, "Is that not why you asked me to head the hideout?" Stephanie's POV "Good point. Go ahead and pack Marissa. I would like to have dinner with you again before you leave and discuss some things." Zander said with a smile. Marissa nodded, left the library, and nodded at Zander before she left. Zander turned to me, wrapped his arms around my waist, and said, "I am sorry that I have been gone my sweet." "It is okay Zander. I have kept busy." "Are you going to miss Marissa?" "Yes, I will miss Marissa but, she promised to Skype with me when she could." "Good. When was the last time you fed on a human my love?" "It has been a week and a half." "Would you like to come and feed with me?" "That sounds like fun." Zander took my hand, led me out of the hideout, and into the forest. I asked, "Where are we going?" "I thought you might like fresh blood. Is that not what you want?" "Fresh blood is fine, my love," I said with a small smile. We went to the town, found a man, and fed on him. This was not really what I wanted but, it was safer for me than drinking the blood in the hideout. I needed to get away from Zander as soon as possible. Maybe I could go visit Marissa after some time has passed. I just hoped that Zander would allow it.
