Chapter Sixteen

After getting on the jet

Crystal's POV

I was worried about Michael, Brody, and Lucas. I needed to talk to them. When we got on the jet I pulled the three of them into a conference room and told Quinten to entertain himself for a little while. I turned to them with concern on my face and said, "We need to talk gentlemen. Have a seat." They sat and looked at me a little scared. I smiled and said, "I am concerned about the three of you. I know that Quinten has not been spending a lot of time with the three of you but, I am sure that you all have realized that he is trying to balance our relationship with yours."

Michael frowned and said, "Crystal when Quinten met you all he did was spend time with you. Even Lucas who has met his mate still spends time with us."

"That is because Lucas does not know if he is ready for a mate. Which, I cannot understand at all. But, I spent time with all you with Quinten and you all seemed okay with that. One of the reasons that I began guy’s night was so that Quinten would spend more time with you. I am not one of those women that cares that Quinten has friends or that he spends time with them. If you need more time with Quinten just make plans with him. I want you all to spend as much time with Quinten as often you want."

"Crystal it is not that simple. We want Quinten to want to spend time with us." Lucas said sternly.

Quinten breezed in the door and said, "I do want to spend time with all of you. Do not yell at Crystal because she cares about the three of you and how you feel. I know that I have been spending a lot of time with Crystal but, I will make a point to spend more time with you all but, you will understand once you find your mates and accept the connection that you have with them why I did spend all of my time with Crystal at first." I took Quinten's hand in mine so, that he would calm down. "You all owe Crystal an apology because she was just trying to figure out what you all wanted."

Brody stood up, came around the table, hugged me, and said, "I am sorry. You have been wonderful to us all and treated us like your brothers. We had no right to be angry at you." Michael and Lucas followed suit quickly.

I followed them out still holding onto Quinten's hand but, said, "Why do you not go see if they want to play a game or something. I will be fine for a few hours on my own. They need you more than I do right now." Quinten nodded and I watched as he got the guys to go back to the meeting room to play a video game. I pulled out my iPad3, opened the sss application, purchased a digital novel and began to read.

Quinten's POV

I was so proud of Crystal she was going to make a wonderful queen. I could not believe that after our brief discussion yesterday that Crystal had taken the initiative to confront my friends about their feelings. While we were playing DUST 514 the four of us talked about school, the fraternity, and the Christmas ball that would soon be upon us. I needed to set up a meeting with Ursula, her sorority chairs, and have Michael, Lucas, and Brody there too. I told them what I was thinking and they agreed.

Lucas asked, "How is Crystal going to be inducted into the sorority?"

"I do not know. I suppose I need to talk to Ursula about that as well. I am sure that Ursula will understand. But, if anything Crystal can do it next semester." I said with a frown.

"That may be the best option considering that you cannot tell Ursula what is going on," Michael said with a grimace.

"I will talk to Crystal about it. I am sure that Crystal wants to join the sorority with Stephanie." I say frowning.

Brody asked, "How is that going by the way?"

"Marissa warned us about the attack Zander planned this time around and now she will oversee a hideout. My father wants to talk about it more while we are away from school." They all nodded. I say, "Now the Hephaestus Institute will be holding a welcoming soiree' that I must attend but, maybe we could have a night out or two together. I have looked into some of the things that we can do and most of them look interesting."

"Sounds like fun," they all say. "Do you think that Crystal would join us?" Lucas asked.

I laughed and said, "All of you now want to spend time with Crystal after everything that happened today. You better all talk to Crystal and make sure that you are all okay with her joining us. I had planned to spend a few days with you all."

Michael frowned and said, "I think I can tell you that all of us love Crystal. Crystal is like the sister we have never had. We could not be happier spending time with Crystal we just wish that you would spend more time with us. We feel like you left us behind and forgot about us."

"I could never do that. You all should know that. I could never forget about all of you." I said pausing the game, "I know I owe you all a huge apology. Which I am willing to give to you now if that is what you want. I never meant to make you all feel the way that you did. My priorities took a major shift when I met Crystal but, now that she has made me see that I have neglected all of you I will correct it."

"That is good enough for us Quinten." Brody said, "Now let us get back to the game." Everyone nodded and concentrated back on the game. After a few hours, we rejoined Crystal.

Lucas's POV

After we had watched a few movies, everyone except me and Crystal, I turned to Crystal, and asked, "Do you think that I could talk to you for a minute?"

Crystal turned to me, raised an eyebrow and asked, "What about Lucas?"

"Regina," I said looking at the ground.

"Why do we not go sit in the back? We can talk more privately back there." Crystal says while getting up, she made sure that Quinten was comfortable, and covered him with a blanket before she moved toward the back of the plane.

When we were situated I said, "I am so confused Crystal."

"Tell me everything."

"I just do not know what to do. I felt that when I met Regina she was hiding something from me. When I asked Regina about it she just shut down and closed me out. We have been dating but, I do not know what I want."

"Maybe that is why Regina is being so closed off to you. Have you revealed anything about yourself?"

"No, but, it is only because Regina will not either."

"I can tell you from experience that it is easier for a woman to open up once the man has opened up. I think that we feel closer to you that way. What else seems to be the problem, Lucas?"

"I just do not know what I want out of all of this."

"That I cannot help you with but, I can tell you that Regina is not going to wait forever. I think that Regina wants to be with you but, she is not going to do anything to get closer to you unless you want to be with her forever. Lucas, you are a good man, a great friend, and have everything that a woman would want. I cannot think of a reason that you do not want to mate with Regina."

"I think I am just scared that something will happen to Regina if she joins us in this mission to rescue Stephanie."

"I have seen Regina train and she is good. Regina is quite strong and has the speed that is equal to Quinten's and mine. Regina will be able to get away if she were in trouble. I think that you need time to figure out what you want. My other suggestion is to talk to Regina about your feelings. Regina will know you better than anyone else so she will understand exactly how you feel. Try to stop stressing and find out what your heart and head want."

"Thanks, Crystal I feel better."

"Good. Now I am going to try and rest. We should try to get ourselves used to Eastern European Summer Time so, that we will be able to explore during the day." Crystal got up after hugging me. Crystal rejoined Quinten, snuggled under the blanket with him, and closed her eyes. I continued to sit in the back trying to relax but, was not able to. I stayed up until my body just shut down.

Zander's POV

I could not believe that they had all escaped. The entire family was on the way out of the country and I could do nothing about it. I was in the library throwing things when Stephanie walked in and gasped. Stephanie asked, "Whatever is the matter, my love?"

"THEY ARE GONE!"

"Who is gone?"

I took a deep breath calming myself so that I would not shout at Stephanie and said, "My family. They are on their way out of the country."

Stephanie came to my side, put her arms around my waist, and said, "We will come up with another plan to take them down my darling. This does not have to affect you so much. Marissa and Paul are in place in the other hideouts. This may even be better. It will give all of you more time to prepare, get more people, and come up with a solid plan."

"You are right about that. I need to hunt; would you like to come with me?" Stephanie nodded. I kissed Stephanie's forehead to let her know that I was going to be okay. I was going to get my family. They would pay for what they did to me no matter what I had to do.
