TESSA'S POV
The carriage arrived slowly in stride. I watched the men positioned it and get it ready for movement. The men had been really prepared, it seemed.
"My lady, the carriage has arrived. We should leave now," Jake told me slowly.
My mind was fixed on heading to the mansion as well but even still, my mind would never feel at ease if I didn't make things right with the short guard. If I left then, he would still get punished by Jake. However, things were going to be really different if Jake gave me his promise. Jake was a warrior and a warrior's promise wasn't one to be broken.
