I packed some stuffs for them and took them to Gabe's.
The children were so happy to see Gabe.
When we arrived at Gabe's house, the children ran to him, throwing their arms around his legs and laughing. It was clear that they loved him, and I felt a pang of guilt. I knew that I was taking them away from the man they adored, and it broke my heart. But I knew that it was for the best, that they would be safe with him while I was away. I just hoped that they would forgive me someday.
"Thank you for taking care of them," I said to Gabe, my voice cracking slightly.
