Alicia's PoV It's been a week since I transfered school. Yes, a week already passed. Nothing much changed. It feels like my first day always. The gazes of the students, their chattering, and some of them even made fun of me. It's not that a big deal for me. I'm not physically hurt. Their words are nothing compaired to what I've heard from my previous school. Thanks to Alvin, Camille, and Gabreil who always accompanied me. We've been having lunch together since day one. It's the moments with them I should cherish not the other students who keep mocking me. "Good morning, Alicia!" Alvin greeted me with a smile. He always does. He never forget to smile whenever he greeted me. As usual, I looked away. Trying to hide my red face. His smiles really gives an unfamiliar effects to me. "Hi, good morning," I managed to greet him back. "Why are you alone here?" he asked. "I was waiting for my next class," I answered. "Mind if I sit with you?" "No, not really." "So, how's your stay here?" "Good. Nothing special," I said. "We'll be having a special event on weekends. I hope you can come." Is this the event I've been hearing from them? They seems busy preparing for something. When we're at lunch, they never stop talking about the flow they arranged and the stuffs they want to have on the event. "Sounds fun," I mumbled. "Yes, it is. We prepared a lo for this." I looked at him and noticed that he's staring at me. "Is there a problem?" I asked in confusion. "Was there something on my face?" "No, nothing." He immediately looked away. "Why are you staring at me?" I asked. "It's just that... you really look pretty," he whispered. "What?" "Nothing." I watched him shook his head and let out a deep sigh. Something is wrong with him. "The lovebirds are flirting already? It's too early!" We heard Camille shouting from afar. I looked at her as she walked towards us and Alvin quickly stood up. Camille has her strange smirk on her face, like she's mocking one of us. "Good morning," she greeted. "You're late," Alvin said. "It's still early, President. Did I interrupted your little flirtation?" Camille laugh. "Who's flirting?" Gabreil exclaimed. I didn't noticed him. He's now standing behind Camille. "This two is flirting behind our back. You betrayed us, President!" Camille acted sad, wiping a fake tear falling from her eye. "We're just talking!" Alvin grunted, a little annoyed. Camille and Gabreil laugh together. I can't help my self but to smile. Seeing the reaction of Alvin is quite cute. This two never missed to annoy Alvin. When the bell rang, we immediately went to our respective classes. All the gazes of my classmates focused on me until I sat down. It didn't surprised me anymore. Even when I'm walking in the hall or going to the garden, they're always looking at me. "Good morning," the professor greeted when she came in. She quickly start discussing and as usual, I tried to focus. But my mind has its own plans. I can't stop thinking of Alvin, especially his smile. I shook my head a little bit and forced myself to focus. He's driving me crazy! I've never felt this way before. It's too early? I guess. I just met him a week ago and I don't know why I have this feeling. Something is wrong with me. I didn't noticed that the class was finished. The professor and my classmates already left. Now, I'm the only one here. Stop daydreaming, Alicia! I quickly went out of the room. When I was about to go to the stairs, I saw Janina standing right beside it. When she saw me, a smirk formed on her lips. I immediately turn around. The're another stairs I can use to go down. I need to stay out of trouble. "Where do you think you're going?" Janina grabbed my left arm. Forcing me to face her. I can't move and her grip are strong and painful. "What do you want?" I asked. "Do you think I forgot what you did last week?" I can see how angry she is. But, what did I do? "I'm not doing anything," I mumbled. She grunted, pretty annoyed. "Then, let me remind it to you." She quickly swang her right hand onto my face but I was able to dodged it. She looked at me angrily, like a lion ready to devour me. I smiled frankly, making her irritated more. She was about to attack me again when a few students passed by. It made her stopped for a moment. "Hiding what you really are?" I grin at her. "I have nothing to hide," she exclaimed. She went over me, trying to pull my hair. And again, I dodged. I laugh softly. I can see how hard she's trying. "Better luck next time," I stated. I left her there standing, trying to fix her uniform. Her face shows how mad she is but I could care less. She went for it. It's what she deserved. "Alicia!" I saw Camille running towards me while waving her right hand. "Hi, Camille," I greeted her. She breathed heavily a few times then wipe her sweat on her forehead. "Where are you going?" she asked. "To my next class?" I answered. "There's no classes," Camille uttered. "What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. "All the students are on the gymnasium. We have an announcement to make." "Is that so?" "Yeah. I've been looking for you for a while. Where have you been?" Looking for me? Why? "Why?" I didn't realize that I mouthed that question. "Oh! It's been 15 minutes since all the students gathered at the gymnasiun. Alvin noticed that you're not yet there so as Janina. So, she asked me to look for you. Maybe Alvin thought Janina went to you after she confronted to Alvin," Camille explained, gesturing her hands every now and then. Janina confronted Alvin? For what? Is that the reason why Janina's mad? "So, did Janina went to you?" Camille asked. "No, I haven't noticed her since the end of my first class." I don't know why I'm hiding that. I guess, for peace? "Good. Now, lets go!" Camille grabbed my left hand and pulled. We're not running, but it's too fast for a walk. I just let her and followed her. When we arrived at the gymnasium, all of the students are there. It's my first time entering here and I'm surprised that it's this huge. I never thought that all of the students in this campus could fit here. "Good morning, everyone." The old lady in front took our attention. Camille suddenly vanished. I tried to looked around to find her but I can't. "In just a few more days, we'll be celebrating our 23rd Elite Anniversary," the old lady happily announced. Her joy is written all over her face. "Our SSG Board prepared a lot for you to enjoy. May I call the President of the SSG Board, Mr. Alvin Montero." I heared the crowd yelling, they basically went wild hearing Alvin's name. Especially girls. Alvin gestured everyone to quiet. "Good morning," he greeted that makes the crowd loud again. I can't believe he's this popular. We've been together every lunch but the students are not like this. When the silence covered the gymnasium, Alvin started to speak again. "For the 23rd Elite Anniversary of our campus, we prepared a variety of stuff for us to enjoy. It's a one week celebration and that also means that there's no class for that week." Upon hearing that, the students shouted again. Both girls and boys. I then noticed Camille at the corner of the stage. When she noticed I'm staring at her, she suddenly wink at me. I just shook my head when she started laughing. "On the first and second day of our celebration, we'll be having a sport fest. On the third day, the elimination round for the Campus Beauty. Fourth day, Battle of the Band. Fifth day, Dance Battle. Sixth day, Final round of Campus Beauty. And last day is for us to celebrate." I didn't noticed Camille was now in front of the stage. She's the one who announced the program each day. "There are booths and stations the you can join for the whole day where you can gain rewards and tickets. There are prizes for a specific amount of ticket. Please see our bulletin board for other information." It's Gabreil. "We're looking forward to this celebration and I hope we all got to enjoy. That would be all," Alvin stated. The crowd is full of excitement. I could hear them mumbling to one another about the event. So, this is the event they've been talking about. "Aren't you excited?" Camille suddenly popped up behind my back. I stumbled a bit. "I am," I answered. "If you say so," she replied. "This is your first time? You should make it memorable," Gabreil stated. I didn't noticed that he's with us. "We should make it memorable. Right, President?" Camille exclaimed. I turned my back and yes, there's Alvin. Walking along us, staring at Camille puzzled. On the other hand, Camille is just grinning at him and she winked a few times. I heared Gabreil chuckled, followed by a loud laugh of Camille. Alvin grunted but it cannot stop his two buddies. "Shall we have lunch?" Alvin asked. "What? It's not lunch time yet," I stated. "But there's no class." "Really?" Alvin managed to walk beside me. It's not like I'm walking too fast. While Camille and Gabreil became quite at the back. "Do you have something to do?" Alvin asked. "Nothing important. I just want to go to the library when I have free time. I haven't been there since day one," I replied. He looked at me for a while and then looked away. I noticed that without glancing at him. I don't want to. "I can go there with you," he stated. "Aren't you busy?" I asked. "Not anymore." "Look at our lovebirds having a perfectly affectionate talk." Camille bursted into laugh after saying that. She really likes to annoy Alvin. I stared at Alvin only to be shocked and puzzled. He's smiling, widely. "Why are you smiling?" I asked. He startled for a bit before glancing at me. His smile is now gone, too sad. "Nothing," he answered. I raised an eyebrow, questioning his response. But, I didn't say anything. He quickly looked away. His face suddenly turns red and that couldn't escape my sight. "Let's just eat," he uttered then walked fast. I just shrugged my shoulder. I could hear the two behind us laughing again. When we entered the cafeteria, all the noises we hered are about the event. It's quite amusing for me how this students could be so much excited for something like that. You know? Their attitudes and composure. Alvin managed to find a vacant table, order our food, and then stare outside. If the waall of this cafeteria was not made of glass, I'll be thinking he's out of his mind. It didn't took long for our order to arrived. We started to eat and Camille and Gabreil are talking to each other. I wonder if there's something between them. I was laughing with Camille when I suddenly felt a hot liquid streaming down from my head. I jolted in shock and in pain. It's really hot! "What the f*ck are you doing!" Alvin shouted. I started panicking. All I could feel is hotness and pain. It's like, my skin are slowly being burned. I grabbed the glass of water on our table. Without hesitation, I poured it into myself. But, it didn't ease the pain. "Oops." I knew who did this. But all I could care about now is my skin. I tried to stand up only to end up on the floor. My hands are roaming around my body, trying to cover the parts that are aching. Hoping it could magically ease the pain. "You, b*tch!" I saw Camille attacking Janina. They fight on the floor, Janina lying on her back and Camille on top of her. My vision is blurry but I can see that Camille is slapping Janina's face simultaniously. Making a continues sound of slap echoed the area. I felt two arms trying to help me stand up. It's Alvin. "Let's get her to the clinic," he instructed. Maybe to Gabreil. Alvin carried me and run as fast as he can. I could hear his hearbeat and his heavy breathes. This is absurd. This is more than bullying. I never thought there are people who likes to do this murderous things just because I looked normal and simple. They're inhuman. To be continued...
