The morning sun woke Dominic as it rose above the railing on the balcony. He had come back the night before, quickly stripped off his wet clothes and, chilled from the cold night air as he got out of the cab, shivered in bed as his mind returned to thoughts of the cold Michigan winter. He should have taken a hot shower to warm up, but he was so tired from the intense day of tourism that all he wanted to do was drop into bed. Rolling out from under the sheets, he let the morning sun warm him before walking over to his suitcase and unzipping the small pocket on the inside.
