Then something inside me broke open.
It felt like a dam bursting, like every wall I'd built around my power suddenly shattered at once. Energy exploded out from somewhere deep in my chest that I'd never accessed before, a wellspring of something massive and terrifying that I didn't understand and couldn't control.
Light burst from my skin.
