Warrick's POV The walk to the dungeons was worse than the walk to the healing wing. Kade kept a firm grip on my arm as we descended the stone steps, my legs threatening to give out with every movement. My vision darkened at the edges more than once. I gritted my teeth and kept moving. Guards stationed along the corridor straightened as we passed, their faces carefully blank even as I could see the tension in their shoulders and the way their hands stayed close to their weapons. They were afraid. Not of the prisoners, but of me. Of what I might do if the curse took hold again. I couldn't blame them. The sounds reached us before we got to the cells. Voices raised in argument, children crying, someone shouting demands that went unanswered. The Lake Pack survivors weren't quiet anymore.
