AURORA’S POV
A breeder?
I was frozen in shock, my knees feeling weak as if they might buckle at any moment. I was going to be a baby-making machine for some strange Alpha I had never met? My life was crumbling, falling apart completely. The gravity of what Rebecca had just said shook me to my core.
Yes, I had been longing to escape the suffering in the Moon Stone Pack, but not like this—not by becoming the possession of some lustful Alpha who thought he could buy me to satisfy his needs and make babies with me.
Did Rebecca do this to punish me? How could she suggest to her mother, Luna Hera, to sell me off as a breeder to a strange Alpha whom even Luna Hera didn’t know?
Even before I could make sense of it all, Luna Hera grabbed me by the arm roughly. She pulled me along, and I wondered where she was taking me to until we arrived at my room.
“My daughter will make sure the alpha arrives as soon as possible. You have nothing to pack up anyway, but you stink, you need a shower,” she said to me. Before I could tell her I had taken my bath already, she placed her finger on her lip, signalling me to keep shut.
Her voice cut through my troubled thoughts as she snapped, “You have five minutes to get dressed and come downstairs, or I swear you’ll regret it.”
I would usually tremble at such a command, just like I always had, but now, I was no longer afraid of her threats, knowing that something far scarier was coming my way—I was going to be a breeder for goddess knows who.
I was afraid, but deep down, I knew this was all due to Rebecca’s lack of confidence in herself. She was insecure about my presence in the pack, and now she had found a way to rid herself of me for good.
After Luna Hera left and I had taken my bath, I stood in my towel for a while in my tiny, cluttered room, paralyzed by fear and indecision. My heart raced as I considered escaping the Moon Stone Pack territory, but I had been trying to do that since I was 17, and it had never worked out for me.
Eventually, I dressed, slipping into the only good-looking dress I owned. It wasn’t something I had chosen for myself—it was a hand-me dress. Rebecca had dumped some fabrics out through her window, and I had taken them to make a dress for myself.
I walked out of the room and descended the stairs slowly until I caught sight of a young man, who appeared to be between 25 and 26 years of age, in the sitting room.
His eyes were on me as I walked down the stairs. His eyes were a sharp shade of blue, and his dark hair, brushed and oiled to perfection, gleamed under the light. He was tall—at least 6’2—with broad shoulders and muscles that almost bulged out of his tuxedo and white sleeves.
No doubt, he was a well-built, attractive man. But who was he?
“Is this the girl, Aurora?” he spoke up, his voice cold and commanding.
Rebecca stepped forward hastily, grabbing my arm and dragging me closer to him. “Yes, she is. This is Aurora, the slave, and she is yours now only for the amount we agreed on,” Rebecca said with a greedy glint in her eyes.
I gulped, dread pooling in my stomach. It was now clear that this man was the one willing to pay such an enormous amount to own me as his pet—his breeder.
He slowly walked toward me, his piercing gaze sending shivers down my spine. He raised my chin with a single finger, inspecting my face as though I were a product on a shelf. His touch was cold, devoid of warmth or kindness, and I fought the urge to pull away.
“How much for her again?” he asked, his voice colder than before.
Rebecca cleared her throat, stepping forward eagerly. “$1,000,000, and she’s all yours.”
My heart skipped a beat. I silently prayed that he would scoff at the price and walk away, sparing me from being sold like a pet. I was certain he would not want to pay that much for me. But his next words crushed all hope.
“Fine,” he said bluntly, and my mouth dropped in shock.
He agreed to it. How could he agree to such a price for me—a wolfless, worthless slave? At the last auction Rebecca dragged me to, no one had even bid $1000 for me. I was beautiful, yes, but all the alphas didn’t want to go for a wolfless slave. But it was clear this man right here didn’t care about me being wolfless as he only cared about having me as his Breeder.
His fingers, cold as ice, trailed along my cheek, making me tremble under his touch. Then, without another word, he pulled a checkbook from his pocket and scribbled the figure.
He handed the check to Luna Hera, who hesitated briefly before accepting it, like she too was afraid of him. Rebecca quickly snatched it from Luna’s hand and slid it into her purse with a smug grin. All she wanted was for me to see she was the one who sold me out.
“You may take her now,” Rebecca said, gesturing toward the door.
“Follow me,” The Alpha said coldly as he glanced at me, and then he turned to leave.
My stomach twisted as he walked away. Just before reaching the door, he paused, noticing I was still standing where he left me. Slowly, he turned back to me, his gaze was sharp and predatory.
“Didn’t I make myself clear before?” he said in a low, piercing tone, more to himself than anyone else.
Without waiting for a response, he walked out. I stared after him, frozen in place, until Rebecca’s mocking voice snapped me back to reality.
“Have a lovely life ahead, Aurora,” she said, her lips curling into a dark smile as she moved closer to stand beside me, gently placing her mouth over my ear. “Remember you are the Alpha’s Breeder now, and your only worth to him is getting f*cked like the wh*re that you are.”
Her words hit me like an arrow, causing me to dread my fate with the man who had just paid a million dollars to have me as his Breeder...
