Kelly woke the next morning to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and hot bacon. She could hear a radio playing softly in another room. Someone, probably her grandmother because Kelly was almost certain that she lived alone, walked past, stopping briefly at her door, listening to see if she was still sleeping before continuing on. She stretched, her stomach rumbling. She’d have some bacon and whatever else her grandmother made, and as much as it pained her to turn down fresh coffee, she would skip it and opt for some tea instead.
