Greg cut the truck’s engine just before the border between Nightstalker and Blackfur territory, out of sight of the safe house, and rolled to a stop, the dry dirt and rocks crunching under the tires. Rolling her window down, she waited for the jeep to come to a stop next to them so they could discuss what their next step was while listening to the sounds of the night. Somewhere in the distance, a wolf howled, sending shivers down her spine. Given that it was the full moon, though, hearing howls wasn’t uncommon, she reminded herself.
